There is an old time tested conundrum: what came first the Chicken or the Egg?? Does art imitate life, or life imitates art? Oscar fiasco at its best!

There is a chaos in Hollywood. What just happened, there is disbelief, shock? Sounds familiar?? This has never happened in the 89-year history of the Oscars. Totally blotching the most anticipated award: The Best Picture Announcement!

One of my friends on Active Rain said: “…actors should act…” amazingly enough maybe if the focus would have been less on making political statements and more focus on making the Academy Awards go smoothly and without hiccups, this awards ceremony would not have ended on such a very poor note!

For those who did not watch La La Land was announced as the Best Picture, but in reality, Moonlight won the actual award. Talk about not having their act together…

Let me put this in real time perspective, as a Beverly Hills Realtor one of my listings just had four offers that we were negotiating for the past week and a half.

Could you imagine if I announced the Congratulatory Phone Call, Text, Email to the other agent saying: Great News: Your Clients got the accepted offer. Just after the agent called her buyers, I would call her back and say UPSIE: Sorry your clients did not win the multiple offer bid, I made a mistake.

How would that go over?

My free advice to the Hollywood establishment is, that should put the right envelope in the hands of the announcers and put the results on the big screen, so everyone could see who won. Poor Warren Beatty! Now what do I know? I am just a Beverly Hills Realtor!

Endre Barath, Jr. - Since we're dealing with actors, I can't help but wonder if it was a set-up to humiliate the La La People and cause confusion. I know for certain, I was very, very confused by Faye Dunaway's face.... but that's beside the point. It just seemed too staged for me.

If it was up to me, I would never put a Comedian up there to host the show. I also thought it was odd that out of all the actors in the audience, why did Jimmy Kimmel call Jennifer Aniston to dig in her purse and give that lady something. To put it politely, I thought Jimmy was a mule and not funny.

Thank you for your post and I agree there is chaos in Hollywood. They have lost their way and need to concentrate on what they do best (whatever that is). Once again a highly anticipated event for Hollywood was a let down. I must agree with Patricia Feager ..a nagging thought it was deliberate to cause confusion and humiliate the La-la Land people. The Oscars is suppose to be an event culminating in the awards of the best of the best and no longer is the grand gala that it use to be..a comedian as a host at a revered ceremony has been on of many things contributing to their downfall

I didn't watch the Oscars although I did hear about this snafu this morning. I feel sorry for those who thought they won for a moment. What a crappy feeling that must have been.
