Unusual Sky Over Flower Mound, TX
6:20 PM, 2/26/17
The sky appeared to be inspiring, ominous, and beautiful over Flower Mound, Texas this evening. It was the lovely artistic strokes in the sky that caught my attention while driving home this evening. I just had to pull over near the school playground to snap this photograph. Later this evening, just before the Oscars ended, closer to 11:00 p.m., Central Standard Time, a loud thunderous sky and flashes of lightning shot through my windows while raindrops pounded on top my roof and echoed inside the fireplace; then ended rather abruptly.
Before the rain, this celestial light was quite amazing as it seemed to roll across the sky until I parked my car at home. It wasn't until I uploaded the photograph after the Oscars that I noticed what appears to be a translucent bubble in the sky around where I would imagine was the setting sun. The night sky mesmerizes the eye both while seeing its natural occurrence followed up by seeing the photograph afterwards.
The interval between winter and spring is mysteriously unique and brings forth many elements of surprises. Even though, I am awakened with possibilities and changes, I know everything is unpredictable, like the finale of the Oscars. Lights are out. I took one last final peak into the heavens and noticed there were no stars. In the still of the night, I remain hopeful and optimistic there is something much brighter than movie stars.
