It's Time for Some Spring Cleaning With the Spring Cleanup Challenge
For this month's challenge I'm going to ask everyone to go back and cleanup 10 of their older blog posts. If you are a new member the challenge is for you to write 16 blog posts this month.
When I first started blogging, I didn't have any idea what I was doing. I sat down and wrote about local events and played around with doing market reports and sharing market information. Over the years I've learned a lot about blogging, and I would like to think my blog posts have gotten better and have more relevant content for the consumer.
Time has gone by and those older blog posts are out there on the internet and can be found by the public wanting more information. I really want to make a good impression, and I have gone back and cleaned up some of those older posts. This is still a work in progress for me.
For example....at first I was using a smaller font size. Now I use a 14 pt font. I really like using the larger font size. It has more appeal for me. Since I started blogging I've also learned how to link to other information. I've also learned how to better place my pictures.
When the weather starts warming up and spring is coming, I get the urge to do spring cleaning. Cleaning up some older posts is on my list of things to do.
For this month's challenge I'm going to ask everyone to go back and cleanup 10 of their older blog posts. If you are a new member the challenge is for you to write 16 blog posts this month.
Here are some of the things you might want to consider changing:
- Check your font size. Is it too small or too large?
- Check for grammar and spelling errors.
- Change up your title to make it more search engine friendly.
- Check to make sure your links work correctly. Do they go where they are suppose to go?
- Is some of the information out of date? If so update it.
- How do your pictures look? Could there be better placement? Can you give the post a new look by replacing or adding a picture or two?
Don't limit the changes to the suggestions I've made. These are only a guideline. Do what you think is needed to make the post look, and read, better and therefore make you look better.
For the new members here are some topics for you to consider writing about:
- Local events.
- Local information.
- Neighborhood information and real estate market information.
- Blog about your listings.
- Brag about your sales.
This challenge is on the honor system. For those members that are cleaning up some older posts...write a post about what you did and what changes you made. It's okay to make it a member's only post, but please do share with us what you did with your older posts. Please try to make the post at least 200 words. When you are finished with the post, put a link in the comment section below. Make sure the link is click able and opens in a new window.
If you are a newer member and writing your 16 blog posts, then let me know when you are done by leaving a link to your last post in the comment section below. Make sure the link is click able and opens in a new window.
So get going and start cleaning up those old post, and for the newer members get writing. Have fun and happy spring.
The reward is 2,000 points to be awarded in April. This challenge starts on March 1st and ends at the end of the day on March 31st.
