I loved the gift - it was a great surprise and enjoyed the concert ever-though the seats where in the nose bleed section.  You always come up with the most unexpected gifts.

No matter how much you paid Dan, the comment from your wife says it all! It was worth it! You're right though about the prices. Things definitely were cheaper, literally years ago. My first job paid $90 a week. I was able to save in less than a year and pay cash for my first car. Now I do not pay cash for my cars, I never have that much cash hanging around and it would take longer than a year to save up for it. Of course they didn't have charge cards then either:(

Somewhere Ian Anderson is smiling.  Funny [Jethro Tull] story from my younger days.  In the early 70's I worked at a radio station for the proverbial 'old guy' Program Manager [you know the type:  fake permed hair to try and look cool but really a goofy 40-year old trying to fit in with the 18-24 demographic].  I listened to everything that was sent to the station and told him what was worth playing on air.  In exchange, I got peanuts wages and all the concert tickets I wanted (usually first three rows back then because every band was bribing the radio stations for airtime-- or trying to...).  At a Jethro Tull concert in about '73 I actually watched Ian Anderson go off on one of those monumental flute solos-- the one's that leave the flautist gasping for air to keep playing-- and get going so fast that the inhale choked him up and he coughed up a massive spitwad (I can't spell 'lougi' anymore') and nailed a lady in the second row and blurted out "Oh s**t, sorry! without missing a single note in the song.  Funniest concert moment ever and would have been worth the full price of a ticket had I had to have paid for it back then.  I agree with you on Aerosmith... I can't hear the transition from studio to live version of 'Train Kept A Rollin' without stopping whatever I'm doing and momentarily being back in a '68 Camaro and... well, let's just say I remember the moments well!

WOW $350, and I complain about $70 for tickets to some of the groups that come to the Oakdale......LOL

That seems to be the going rate now a days, oh well... If we want to go to the concert bad enough, well then we  pay those prices. LOL!!!

I'm wondering if the live tours are the greatest source of income now that it's so easy to pirate their songs for free. Maybe the entertainers feel that if we don't have to buy the CD to enjoy their work, then you'll pay thru the nose to see it live.
