The golf season will soon be here for me in New England. Not wanting to wait any longer I have ventured south for a break and to steal a bit of warmer weather. While hitting a few balls, I took the opportunity to also appreciate the beauty around me as well.
I fin that as my game matures I am getting more opportunities to see areas I may have missed in my younger days.
The stand of azaleas nearing full spring colors at the turn in a cart path.
An errant shot near this hole and one will just concede the ball and walk away quickly.
This guy had to be every bit of 3 feet across it's back and 12 feet long. I would have lost a race with him as a gator can run at speeds greater than 30 mph.
On one hole, the starter cautioned us about an eagles nest that was in the trees just off one of the greens. It was a huge nest but we could not see much action from the ground.
When the round was over, I went back and while there was nothing going on at the nest, I did spot an eagle in the trees on the opposite side of that same green.
They are a regal bird and even when resting in a tree know how proud they are. Very little of this scenery is available to me back in CT.
