I love to cook! As many of you know I published a cookbook 2 years ago- Kathy's Kitchen Cookbook and I am working on my next one, which will be a Holiday Cookbook! For years I have trusted and loved my Le Creuset enamel cast iron Dutch oven. I have braised short ribs, crafted hundreds of soups, chilis, and gumbos in it, braised, boiled, sauteed, roasted and even baked bread in it. Le Creuset cookware is not cheap. But I challenge you to find a pot that heats as evenly, lasts for years, and looks good doing it.
Hatch Green Chiles
I grew up in New Mexico and was practically weaned on Hatch Chiles. They are grown in the Hatch valley in southern New Mexico- and they are magical! You can buy them roasted, diced or whole in the
can from Amazon.com, buy I prefer to go straight to Hatch and pick up a 40lb. gunny sack and bring them home to roast them myself. Not only do you get a years supply of chiles for the freezer, but the process of roasting them yourself is so satisfying. Learn how here!
My favorite dish to make with Hatch Chiles is New Mexico Green Chili with pork tenderloin. My Dad taught me to make it years ago, and I have pefected his recipe through the years. Another favorite is Hatch Green Chili Cheeseburger... my favorite can be found at The Pepper Pot Cafe in downtown Hatch, NM!

What do you think of when you hear the name Palm Springs... palm trees, swimming pools, golf courses, sunshine, vacation, mountains, fresh air, celebrities, relaxing... EXACTLY!
When you live and work in an area that is as iconic as Palm Springs the brand is very important. Our valley is know world wide to be the playground of presidents and movie stars. Home to world class dining, golf and tennis tournaments and not to mention, the late Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Bing Crosby, and Frank Sinatra himself. Now... Leonardo Dicaprio has made it his home and rumor has it the Obamas are moving here. The Palm Springs brand is tried and true and it is a strong selling in point in the real estate business.
