What are your thoughts? Lobster & Beer

By
Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties 01238708

What are your thoughts when you see a sign like this? Lobster & Beer. I is it me or do you agree it sounds like a great casual place to have lunch or dinner and throw down some beer? Having lived on the East Coast I am always craving Main Lobster...

Seldom do I drink beer and I am not looking down on Beer, but my preferred choice of alcohol is Red Wine...

Never the less I have driven by this Restaurant now at least eight or ten times and I have always been in a rush so I could not stop and test it out. I did not even have the opportunity to check it out on Yelp?

So what would you do? Would you go just to find out? I am intrigued by the signs as well as what they are offering. Any advice?

Good morning again Endre.  Why not?  One try and you'll either love or hate it.  At least you'll satisfy your curiosity

Give it a try. And, you might even find that you like some the new craft beers that are available.

I would try to find reviews online before taking a chance. If the lobster has not been kept fresh or alive until it was cooked, you could get violently sick... just saying!

Hi Endre -- I'd likely drive by and it's not because of the appearance but I'm just not that much of a lobster or beer fan.

Endre, Certainly you can go in and look at the menu. We are into the wine as you know. Chammy goes great with lobster. I am not sure about beer..

Hi Endre - Lobster is a frequent main course in our home, and it's never paired with beer, although I wouldn't criticise. We much prefer a nice prosecco or Gavi.

Yes, I like living a bit on the adventurous side; pretty game for something not the usual or expected. Yep, I can see some scrumptious lobster and a mug or bottle of beer and in a little out-of-the way place...

Endre, Lobster is good to eat any day of the week but certainly is a nice meal to have when celebrating something special.

When I was a kid, my dad was an avid deep sea fisherman.  Many weekends our family would travel to Half Moon Bay, here in California, and dad would go out on the boats to fish.  There was a little place near the beach that had one of those little stands out front, like the one you have pictured.  They had a crab pot brewing nearby.  They had the absolute best food in a very casual atmosphere.  I miss it.  Like you, I like red wine; but I'm also fond of throwing down a good beer once in awhile.

I'd stop in and check it out.  You take a chance on dives, but sometimes they are hidden gems.

When I'm on the road out of town, I use the "cop car" test.  If there are cops parked out front AND (this is critical) their lights aren't going and they don't have their guns drawn, then I'll stop in .  Cops should know the best places to eat in their towns.
