Rebecca's Random Thoughts, March 2017

February was not a great month for the Gaujot household. My husband, Claude, was sick for a week with a stomach virus. That weekend I came down with the flu. It actually took me three weeks to fight that bug.

In between of having the flu, I was also helping a friend. I had her home listed for sale but rented it instead to a very nice man.  He wanted to move into the house on March 1st.  Since my friend was in the hospital having surgery. I met some maintenance people at the house to get a few jobs completed. While there, I started packing. Hired some people to help pack, thinking it would not take long, right.

My friend has lived in the house for 45 years and I needed help. Thank goodness for her neighbors. I was too sick to continue packing. Her neighbors and their ministry group packed the kitchen and even took the boxes to my friend's storage building.  What would we do without GREAT neighbors?

I was feeling better and showed a few properties on Saturday.   When we arrived at the first listing, we walked to the back gate...the chickens, roosters, and goats came out to meet us. This was a fun outing and we enjoyed watching the animals in the back yard. A rooster and one of the goats came over to the deck watching us just like we were watching them.

Real estate has its ups and downs, good days and bad days. But when I am sick, the last thing I want to do is show houses.

March started out with a new listing and a listing under contract. March winds also came in like a lion.  We had a bad wind storm last week. My neighbor had a tree from the vacant lot next to his fall on his front porch.  There were a lot of trees that fell during the storm and luckily no one was injured.

I hope you are feeling better. Something got me a couple of weeks ago and hung on forever. I'm finally feeling myself again. Take care. I hope Zeke is doing well, too.

Rebecca-so glad to hear that the Gaujot household is feeling well again.  Packing is never easy and when you're not feeling well, it's even harder. You're a good friend and agent to do that.  I remember when we lived in Leesburg...I thought that February and March were the hardest for me...too cold and windy.

Rebecca, I'm glad you and Claude are feeling better. Sounds like you both had nasty viruses. Showing homes when sick is no fun at all. Your photos of the animals made me smile, I never get to see that here and I'd love it. Such a cute goat.

Kathy Streib - Thank you and so glad we are all feeling better. February weather was absolutely warm and sunny. March not sure as it has been very, very windy. I am not complaining as we hardly had any snow this winter  :)

Roy, I didn't get the flu shot. However, I did get my pneumonia shot. My doctor said the flu will make you sick, pneumonia will kill you.

Thanks, Amanda S. Davidson - February was a rough month for us, but we are all better now. There were so many roosters and only two goats. The one rooster and goat just followed us when we were out on the deck.

Hopefully you've paid your sick dues for the rest of the year. The goat looks like he's saying hello, can I help you? =) I just smiled at him again.

Rebecca Gaujot, the Go To Realtor® - Despite the odds, you did it all. I thought it was pretty amazing that the animals showed up to provide some type of support, comfort and/or comic relief. I hope you and Claude will stay well. Your challenges were many and I'm glad to know you are on the mend. I'm sure you're glad February is over.

Despite our challenges, we sure do learn a lot and we keep on going. You truly are an amazing woman.

It's tough trying to keep business going while not feeling up to par. You are a good friend to help pack and go the extra mile to help your client/friend while she was in the hospital. I hope March will be a healthy month for you.
