February was not a great month for the Gaujot household. My husband, Claude, was sick for a week with a stomach virus. That weekend I came down with the flu. It actually took me three weeks to fight that bug.
In between of having the flu, I was also helping a friend. I had her home listed for sale but rented it instead to a very nice man. He wanted to move into the house on March 1st. Since my friend was in the hospital having surgery. I met some maintenance people at the house to get a few jobs completed. While there, I started packing. Hired some people to help pack, thinking it would not take long, right.
My friend has lived in the house for 45 years and I needed help. Thank goodness for her neighbors. I was too sick to continue packing. Her neighbors and their ministry group packed the kitchen and even took the boxes to my friend's storage building. What would we do without GREAT neighbors?
I was feeling better and showed a few properties on Saturday. When we arrived at the first listing, we walked to the back gate...the chickens, roosters, and goats came out to meet us. This was a fun outing and we enjoyed watching the animals in the back yard. A rooster and one of the goats came over to the deck watching us just like we were watching them.
Real estate has its ups and downs, good days and bad days. But when I am sick, the last thing I want to do is show houses.
March started out with a new listing and a listing under contract. March winds also came in like a lion. We had a bad wind storm last week. My neighbor had a tree from the vacant lot next to his fall on his front porch. There were a lot of trees that fell during the storm and luckily no one was injured.
