THE CHICAGO IL REAL ESTATE MARKET, AND OTHER THINGS CHICAGO, FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF A LITTLE WHITE DOG!

Sorry I am a bit late on my post today! I host a Friday Morning Tele-Conference for Chicago Dogs who have an Active Real Estate license, and we ran a bit long today!
You see me here with Team Leader Dean's Mom, my Grandma Felice Moss. (I'm the one on the right, with the white fur.) I wanted to write a little Mother's Day post for you, since I might not connect with you until after the holiday.
You dogs - what do you suppose your mom is worth? Well, mine is PRICELESS, of course. However, in terms of salary value, Waltham MA based Salary.com estimates the value of a mother's work, counsel, and love to be nearly $117,000 each year! (Dog Moms would probably command a higher value - in terms on the number of children they have to take care of, alone!)
Salary.com did calculations based on the average salaries for the tasks the typical mom performs - nursing, coaching and motivation, driving, cooking, keeping a clean house, referee, and General Manager. They estimate the salary for a stay-at-home mom - $116,805. For moms who hold a full-time job outside the home, the value of a mom's work is $68,405.
What do you think, you moms? About right, or too low?
"You should try cleaning up the house with six little fluffy dogs, and 24 little soft paws, tossing and playing underfoot all day," says Buddy's Mom, Misty, from Joliet IL.
"I think a lot of people think we sit and home and have a lot of fun and don't do a lot of work," said Samantha Russell, a Fremont, N.H., mother who left her job as pastry chef to raise two boys, ages 2 and 4. "But they should try cleaning their house with little kids running around and messing it up right after them."
Mom's estimated salary is high mainly because of the incredible amount of OVERTIME each mom puts in! To calculate the average mom's work week, Salary.com did interviews with over 18,000 moms, and found that 94.4 hours was the average number of hours they worked. If they did the same work outside of their homes, they would receive over 54 overtime hours paid each week!
What about moms also working outside the home? In addition to their full-time jobs, the average mom spent 54.6 hours doing motherly duties at home!
However, every mother would agree that the benefits of being a mom are more than just monetary - besides the time, and the headaches. The love of their family is an additional, far grander reward to moms, right?
And, by the way, I don't want to forget my Human Mom - Dean's Team General Manager Sue Moss. She keeps me walking the straight line, you know - especially when I'm at the end of her leash!
Do you have four paws, or only two, moms? In any event, have a Very Happy Mother's Day!
Woof - when you get a chance, can you please check out my post from last night via BlogChicagoHomes.com, for my continued tribute to moms on Mothers Day. My post links to Mark Jewel's story in yesterday's Chicago Tribune.
