Burn Those Socks Baby!! An Annapolis Tradition
It's Time!! The annual Annapolis Oyster Roast & Sock Burning takes place at the Annapolis Maritime Museum March 18, 2017, noon to 4 p.m.
This crazy ritual started back in the 1980's and takes place every March with a bonfire on the beach of the Museum. Throwing socks on the fire marks the beginning of spring and boating season not far behind.
There will be live music by the Eastport Oyster Boys, yes that is the bands name and they are awesome!!
There is an admission to be able to burn your socks but it comes complete with unlimited raw and roasted oysters, Museum’s exhibits and a chance to enter the oyster shucking competition. There will also be Barbeque, lobster rolls, beer, wine, Bloody Marys, dark & stormies and who knows what else available to purchase. more will be available for purchase. Did I mention a display of waterman’s workboats will be at the Museum?
Come ready to have a fun time The Annapolis Maritime Museum is located at the end of 2nd St on the Eastport side of Annapolis.
