This Mornings Upgrades.........the Good and the Bad

We did a release to the site early this morning and it looks like there are a few bugs. (I'm a get the bad out of the way first kind of person) We have had people report that they can not upload pictures......the spell check still isn't working (this was suppose to be fixed in the release), one person lost the icon bar on their blog post page and in their comments.

We are aware of these issues. If you have seen other issues, can you let us know. Please include what browser you are using along with the version of that browser. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience. We hope to have this addresses shortly.

The good news is, we made some serious improvements to the database and you should be able to find these new bugs with much greater speed :-)

Seriously, you should see better site performance and it will only get better over the next few weeks. We have a really solid programming team in place and we'll introduce you to the new guys once they get settled in a little :-)

comments are not going to My Home or weren't . My whole blog got centered.

Same here. The new comment message did show up on HOME screen, I did get the message in my email.

I'm using Internet Explorer with Windows XP PRO...Comments I've made haven't registered on 'points summary' page...I'm getting no notification of messages or commenters on 'my home' page...and I too wasn't able to upload pics into my post!!! So far that's all I've noticed! Thanks, Fran

No new comments showing on my home page, event though I have received email notifications. I'm using IE with Windows XP SP2

My comments are not being posted. Also my links tab in the comment section is not working. I am using IE windows xp sp2

Great news! We reported to the tech dept. back on April 19th that the spell check was not working for us.

Hi. I'm using a Mac and Firefox as my browser. Comments that people are making on my posts are not showing up in my comments summary, and the comments I've posted are not registering anywhere. And no points! Yikes! You know what a points junkie I am!

Comments have been wok=nky for me, too. My name didn't show (and I was logged it), I tried to edit to get my name to show, and the whole comment went bye-bye. And none of them are showing up on my Home. And, yeah, no comment points. :-)

I noticed that the points summary isn't updating and the home page isn't listing any comments that are being posted/have been posted. Hadn't noticed anything else but will let you know.sw

I just noticed that the comments aren't showing up for us, either. They post to the blog, but don't show up in our summary.

Ok here is my results:

1) quick post saved in draft

2) photos of Nashville, not going in

3) Vista IE, latest

4) no points for comments going in.

But, when it is fixed that new advanced feature on photos looks great.

I can not upload photos. I've tried several times this afternoon but it just won't take.

First of all I must finish laughing about finding the bugs with greater speed. Gosh...You just gotta love that humor around here :)

Anyway...The only thing I have seen thusfar are the double spacing in the comments. I also have my address next to my name. That's not supposed to be there. Right?

If I spot anything else I'll come back.

FYI: I'm on the most recent version of Firefox. Just so you know I can't log into my account on IE 7 and haven't been able to since December. I'm not bitching...I am happy with Firefox. We all know IE sucks anyway :)

I am using IE7 and am not seeing points posted for comments made nor is the record of those comments being posted to my home page. Thanks! I'm sure the benefits of the upgrade are worth the minor inconveniences!

I'm back. I can't upload photos, but can insert photos from flickr. Also, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for addressing the HTML being stripped when moving back to WYSIWYG! That alone is worth dealing with the bugs!!!!

Well, I could be the 24th comment to say, comments arent working & I can't put in pictures...but, I think you already know of these issues. So instead...let me give you guys some advil...you may need it for this headache!

If you don't see the term 'Sardi' in the 'by' in this comment....my name is still not showing up when I make a comment. Come to think of it, that may not be a bad thing.

Like others have mentioned, there seems to be a glitch in recognizing comments. On the plus side, I've noticed impressive gains in the site's response time, so keep moving in that direction!

Hi, I noticed how quickly the pages loaded this a.m. Good job! But the comments are not showing up on my page or the 25 points each.

Cleared cache - that worked for resolving the picture, I see a new ADVANCED tab there. I am going to wait for the tute on how to use it!

Ditto Patricia Kennedy... I'm on a Mac using Firefox 2.0.0.14 and I have the exact same issues. Plus those missing names in some of the comments. Who are those people??

I cleared the cache but still can't put in a picture. I'm using IE7. It briefly flashes "done but with errors on the page" then just shows "done" but there is no picture.

My signature line has changed. And my man boobs are tenderer. Other than that I'm good to go!!

My comments keep disappearing, too. But, Here I go trying again. And yes, my signature changed, too, but I think I managed to change it back. Except I can't tell for sure if the comments don't hang around. :-)

I have had problems with Spellchecker, points and comments not showing up and I recently posted a blog and when I checked the points if said less than 50 words which is not right. Also I can't upload images.

I have used Firefox and IE today.

Okay, I cleaned the cache, and still no photo upload. However, the paragraph indent tool worked properly - and held when published. That's a gain.

Clearing cache didn't fix mine either...Mayeb FF doesn't like the changes...

The picture upload issue can be resolved if you clear your cache ---how? (Vista here)

I wrote seven comments today (May 9) before I realized that NONE of them showed up on my home page!

I was using IE7 with Windows XP Home, SP2.

I hope these can be posted retroactively to the points summary page. I don't want to have to do them all over again...

I am having the same issue with the comments as most others above. I wrote a few comments on other blogs before realizing that they were not registering at all, either on my home page or in my points summary. Also, comments from others on my post from earlier are not showing up. The only thing that is new on the "My Home" page is group emails and a comment that I made as a response on my own post.

I am using IE 7.0.

I was excited to see what Lisa wrote about the HTML/WYSIWIG tabs. Good move!

As many have already reported I have not recieved any points for the comments that I have made today.

spell check still isn't working (this was suppose to be fixed in the release) I appreciate the irony of that statement. I noticed some comments I made earlier in the day didn't register on my points summary: I just figured I finally lost my mind.

I'm sure all the AR "gods" are very glad it's Friday...hopefully when they all arive back that little guy that keeps breaking into my computer and screwing things up will hve been caught, or droped dead from exertion (Ok you just have to figurle out what I'm saying) all the activity and running around like a wild child in my computer all the time :)

Bob & Rich, I'm sure (yea right), you guys remember MY problem BEFORE all this with the fact that 3/4 of my associations disapeared from me being able to see them, however other people can. The only thing showing up as to a comment made on a post, when you go to a group page, is the date and time. Name of the commenter is not showen.

Link insertion is not working.

Geting a Runtime Error time I going to a group,and blog post. Get asked if I want to Debug. And when I submit a comment.

{#advimage-dlg.dialog-title} Comes up if you debug photo upload window.

I use AOL.

I would hate to think what the consumers are thinking when they come to our blog's right now. Or the new member's of the community.

Don't take me wrong, I know Y'all are doing your best to fix this.

Dale, your problem is that you use aol, get rid of it and everything else will fall in place:-)

I notice this evening that there is points issued for the comments. I saw a post on this and I checked and nothing is being awarded. I can only hope that the system is keeing track of all this somewhere?

Thanks for all of the effort. I don't know if I should classify this as a bug or if it's an actual change to the system. But the following is something I now notice.

For those of us who are registered with AR as a "Brokerage", the brokerage name field instead of first and last name fields, is now being displayed in the comment "by" field.

Is this a bug or a permanent change?

I thought I was loosing my mind.. couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. I didn't know about this website for information either... as of this afternoon 5/10 things are working back to normal.

Is there anything that can be done about all the spam questions with multiple web links in the Q&A section lately?

The Good News: All my systems seem to be working fine - I can upload pictures, make comments, post a blog, etc.

The Bad News: When trying to copy & paste my signature with links on my blog - the new system inserts it

with plain text and removes the spacing and the links using FF - haven't tried it with IE7

Not sure if this is where you want this feedback??

Windows Vista with latest Explorer Browser

I can not center my Picasa Slide Show

Every other slide in my slide show is sideways unless I hit refresh. This does not happen on my Wordpress Blog. ActiveRain is usually the most user friendly and non-sensitive blog platform.

I can not paste link buttons into my blog like I was able to before
