Random Thoughts On A Not So Random Day

Life is full of adventures.

Well...kinda, right?

Stuff happens.  And quite often.  Here are a few thing random things I’d like to share from a not so random day:

Random Life Adventure #1

I thought everyone had heard of the expression “it’s like comparing apples and oranges”.  Apparently not everyone.  So I needed to explain the concept. Who knew?  Many experiences test my patience.  Life goes on.

Random Life Adventure #2

And speaking of apples and oranges and well, produce….have you ever noticed people who stand in the middle of the aisle in the supermarket? What’s up with that?   You know the ones who are comparing the price per ounce of the various packages of Froot Loops?   One of the advantages of life in real estate is that I can shop off-hours...so get out of my way...I’m on a mission...PS -- ditch the cereal and head over to where you can find the real fruit.   Just sayin’.

Random Life Adventure #3

Around 12:15AM Tuesday, I was awaken from a semi-deep sleep to a shrill sound.

It sounded like my smoke detector...Darn, I knew I should have changed those batteries on Saturday night/Sunday morning as one of those hundreds of emails reminded me to do with the time change.

Well, it wasn’t my smoke detector but an alarm for my entire condominium building.  I thought about it for a minute or so before deciding I should consider leaving.

In the courtyard I found lots of my neighbors and a fire engine.  A false alarm of sorts with some mischievous undertones -- a call for a mass selfie was ignored along with my suggestion that this meeting be called a quorum for an upcoming HOA election and everyone was back in their homes within the hour.

Just some random thoughts on a not so random Pi day.

Hi Michael - I'm with you on the supermarket thing (although I'd guess the contents of our carts would be like, well, apples and oranges) - I just don't have enough patience with aisle cloggers, but that's okay, since I'm rarely allowed to be grocery shopping without adult supervision.

Michael,

That supermarket thing, I know what you mean, and I am ocasionally guilty of that when I look at wines.  I have written posts with apples and oranges pictures, and I am surprised that few recognizes the difference  A

I would love to have you as a neighbor.  Why not a selfie in the middle of the night when everyone in the building has been evacuated?

I imagine the people standing in the courtyard of your condominium building, Michael, were wearing pajamas. I mean, hey, if an alarm off in the middle of the night, I would not stand in my bedroom hesitating about what I should do. I'd be stuffing cats into pillow cases and dashing outside in a robe. And I would not appreciate a group selfie with my messed up hair and wide-eye look of a deer caught in headlights.

Michael, what was up with the fire department?   Hope it was a false alarm, and had the same thing happen last night at a listing.

Michael Jacobs - I really enjoyed your random thoughts and I could relate to each and every one!

Random Thought #1 - I cannot believe how many people can be hired to work in a grocery store and not know the difference between a turnip and a potato, parsely and cilantra, and a peach from a plum! And it's not just one grocery store! It's all of them in my area!!!

Random Thought #2 - I also like to shop off hours but it's so annoying for me to find employees stocking shelves and not moving to allow customers to take things off the shelf. I wish grocery stores trained employees to understand customer satisfaction, common courtesy, and the concept of moving or getting out of the way! I also hate the cereal aisle and avoid it like the plague. There are lots of fruity people in the cereal aisle!

Random Thought #3 - Best way to make a point and have your voice heard is in a surprise setting, like in a false alarm standing with a crowd of unexpected people! A selfie or video would have been funny!

HI Michael Jacobs - On random life adventure 2 - It reminds me of when tourists in rentals stop in the middle of the road after going about 5 mph to take a picture of the red rocks!  Happens once a month at least!

Not know apples from oranges? How can anyone have lived and not heard that phrase?

The grocery store - very annoying! Not just when they stop to read labels and leave their carts in the middle, but when they stop to visit and fill the aisle from side to side, so no one can possibly pass by.

Jolted awake in the middle of the night - for me it's a very large dog with a very large voice who sometimes thinks she hears something outside. I've had to get up and let her out to patrol the area in order to get her to be quiet and go back to bed.

Just as annoying - our local gas station / quick stop. Tourists pull in to fill their cars and boats, then go inside to order a burger or ice cream cone and leave their cars in front of the pumps. How rude!

Hi Michael

Glad to hear the alarm was nothing worse than false.

I know what you mean about the supermarket, and Costco is even worse.

The apples and oranges thing? I haven't run across anyone, yet, who does not get the comparison.

No pie on Pi day?

Jeff
