Lunch and Craft Beer Tastings at Mad Fox Brewing Company

 

After attending the Ideal-Living Expo. in McLean, Virginia, Dolores and I decided to visit Mad Fox Brewing Company for lunch and craft beer tastings. This was our first visit to Mad Fox. We enjoyed and recommend the Fig & Balsamic Blues pizza (garlic olive oil base | aged mozzarella | bleu cheese | bacon | rosemary | caramelized onion | dried figs | balsamic glaze).

We sampled eight of the many craft beer selections. Our favorite was the Barrel Aged Headcracker which is an English-style golden barley wine that has spent three months in Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels. At 9% Alc. by Vol., this is not a light selection. The special treat was to be able to try this beer from the tap and from the cask. The cask selection was smoother with a bit of carbonation and was wonderful.

That pizza combination is a stretch for an ole' spagetti-puller like me. Now that 9% beer; I could really take a big step back with that!  Yikes!
