Why I Comment on Market and Listing Reports

So, I've read that some people aren't big fans of market reports.  And, I post a lot of them.  But, I also read and comment on the reports of others and because of that I think I know more about the pace of our real estate market:

Why I Comment on Market and Listing Reports

No...it’s not for points.  At the core of ActiveRain is the community. We build relationships virtually and sometimes in person.

It has been suggested that the best way to begin that relationship just a thoughtbuilding is to read and comment on the posts of others.

It’s true!  It’s not enough to write a post and let it float off into cyberville. If your goal is to get to know others here, then there needs to be a back and forth of dialog.

Hey, it’s just like real life!  Friends stop to say “hello” and support each other.

But when the blogger primarily posts market and listing reports, how do you comment?

Writing these reports is not a bad thing. It’s what makes the phone ring! But it’s a lot easier to comment on a Wordless Wednesday post or a “How to” post.

And so this is why I comment on Market and Listing reports.

It is a way of saying Thank you to many who stop to comment on my posts.

It is a way of giving support to the blogger.

It is a way of saying hello.

And, believe it or not, it’s a way to learn about the markets in other areas.

So it’s not about the points but about building a relationship.

Nothing says you have to, it's always your choice!

Excellent reblog and excellent point, Gabe. It's always helpful to have an idea of what's happening in other markets because those trends could very well impact yours at some point.

Good morning Gabe,

Great repost.

It also gives us an individual to refer a client that may be moving to that area.

It is also interesting to see how the markets compare.

Make yourself an astonishing day.

Gabe, market reports are probably not the most fun to read, but it is good to know what different markets are doing across the Country.

Gabe you make a good point in your intro comment to this re-blog, and it falls in line with one of the reasons why I also read Market Reports.  I don't read all of them or comment on all the ones I read, but I do find them to be a good way of following what is going on in the Real Estate Market across the country.

I personally do not care to create market reports but there is a good reason to publish this info and support those folks in the community who publish this data. Good re-blog..

Gabe, this is a great choice for a re-blog. Kathy did a really nice job and I agree with her points. I used to dread writing market reports but, then realized it made me current at all times on my market right down to the different neighborhoods. I also enjoy reading them now and agree it helps us understand different trends across the country.
