Record Sedona Snowfall!
March 18-19, 2012
You can see by the numbers in the Almanac above, we don't get a lot of snow. Occasionally we will see a pretty good snowfall. However, I have never experienced a snowfall that has crippled our city. Our close proximity to Flagstaff allows for support units to aid and assist Sedona when needed (which is rare).
Snow melts fast. We call it "polite snow" because it does not overstay it's welcome!
The weather does not stay below freezing. It "dips" below freezing! This means the melting process starts immediately. Our atmosphere is very dry so you do not feel bone chilling weather as you might in other parts of the country.
You can see additional stats such as "Number of Days" below 50º or Number of Days below 32º. Hottest Days - Days with Rain - and a New Category - Days with Sun! Go to Ricks World Sedona and select to Sedona Weather tab and scroll to "HI - LOW Weather Stats (2011 thru 2017).
Sedona and Arizona boast we have over 300 days of sunshine but I am not sure anyone has ever proved that factoid. Each year and season has a short journal of the weather that year. This is a great tool for those considering purchasing a Sedona home for sale.
