See More Sedona Weather Statistics Here

Snowfall Sedona Weather Almanac You can see by the numbers in the Almanac above, we don't get a lot of snow. Occasionally we will see a pretty good snowfall. However, I have never experienced a snowfall that has crippled our city. Our close proximity to Flagstaff allows for support units to aid and assist Sedona when needed (which is rare).

Snow melts fast. We call it "polite snow" because it does not overstay it's welcome!

The weather does not stay below freezing. It "dips" below freezing!  This means the melting process starts immediately. Our atmosphere is very dry so you do not feel bone chilling weather as you might in other parts of the country.

You can see additional stats such as "Number of Days" below 50º or Number of Days below 32º. Hottest Days - Days with Rain - and a New Category - Days with Sun!  Go to Ricks World Sedona and select to Sedona Weather tab and scroll to "HI - LOW Weather Stats (2011 thru 2017).

Sedona and Arizona boast we have over 300 days of sunshine but I am not sure anyone has ever proved that factoid. Each year and season has a short journal of the weather that year. This is a great tool for those considering purchasing a Sedona home for sale. Snow Cactus

It is amazing to me at how hardy succulents are to temperature extremes. Thanks for the frigid photos to remind me of why we live in warmer climes!

Enjoyed your snow pictures Sheri Sperry - MCNE® .  In a non-snowy state, it's ok to see once in a while.  We don't get any here in south Florida, but I wouldn't mind having been raised up north.

Hi Sheri

Well despite my dislike of snow, after years in New England, those certainly are beautiful photos. We were in Sedona in December several years ago to visit my Aunt and it was snowing - the red rocks were so picturesque! I love the phrase "polite snow" - in my book it's NO snow, except on the distant mountains!

Enjoy your weekend!

Jeff

Good morning, Sheri -- I also like the term "polite snow" as well and it reminds me of Ben Franklin who said "Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days...". Who says snarky is a 21st century phenomenon?   Thank you for sharing your Sedona weather memories.

Good morning Sheri.  For the last two-three years we have had a relatively mild winters.  I know it's coming (hard winter). When it snows here it stays for awhile.  Just wondering, I did not see it on the chart, is that a record?

Wow, that is crazy!  With the heat that we have been having lately, it is very hard to imagine that 5 years ago, it was cold enough for snow.

Hi Sheri - yes I know it does happen.  I flew into Phoenix to our regional office one day in January to be greeted by snow.  Of course it did not last long.
