Spring is not here officially but mother nature has her own way of declaring what the season is. We were walking Henri in the neighborhood and this home is owned by the mother of one of my favorite REALTORS®. I had to take this picture because it made me smile and think about how glad I was that cold weather is over. The tree is a Redbud which is our state tree and for those who can't get enough trivia our state bird is the Scissortail Flycatcher, a bird with a twin tail. What I found absolutely hilarious about our state is that the state flower is the Mistletoe which by definition is a parasite. Think about that the next time you kiss your love one at Christmas underneath a parasite. I hope that did not ruin the holiday for you.
Joe,
What a great garden your friend's mother has! That redbud tree is gorgeous, and I know what you mean about the mistletoe. I see it often on the sycamores! A

I have been amazed the last several days, at how rapidly the trees and flowers have burst out of their winter hibernation. They are so very uplifting.

Good morning Joe. When I lived in Houston I watched those Scissortails fly around eating those insects. Magnificent animals. BTW love the photo. T-time is 12:06, if you play and can make it someday give me a call, I'll pay for your green fees.....

That picture shouts that spring is coming, if not here already. Seeing a lot of those blossoming trees in Charlotte as well, Joe. Love this time of year with all the early blooms.

Absolutely gorgeous. We are getting closer and closer out here as well. I just hope we don't have a sudden snow storm to kill all the buds.
Funny trivia about mistletoe.

We will begin spring with snow on the ground in Maryland.
The cold weather killed about half of the DC cherry blossoms.
Wow great picture of this colorful garden, Diane and I need to work on our shrubs:))Endre

Hi Joe, We saw a few trees in bloom with pink blossoms just before the snow and sleet hit us last week....the blooms did not fair so well...but amazingly some ground flowers did!
I remember the first time I saw mistletoe in a tree...in California...it was fascinating to me that it was a parasite.
My girlfriend and I just planted 5 redbuds for the color. We'll have to wait until next year to enjoy all two weeks of it.
