Thank You Debbie Laity (I think) for this March Contest!
Oh this manic obsessive brain of mind has been hard at work on my old posts because of your :
It's Time for Some Spring Cleaning With the Spring Cleanup Challenge
(14 font to honor your post Debbie)
Laughing at some of my discoveries, oh-the misspellings, the photos that vanished, the sentences that I read and said "HUH? What was I smoking?" I didn't realize the obsession this would become, so again, I dubiously thank you Debbie.
I started by deleting a few very old MLS Search posts that lead to nowhere. They were property search sites going to an MLS system we do not even have in San Diego anymore. I also focused on Featured Posts.
This lead to going on my website, creating new property searches, (I have many more to do, but this was a good start).
Example: Active on Live MLS Homes for Sale in La Jolla over $1 Million Dollars
This lead to me having to watch training videos on Property Minder so I knew how to do that with my new website.
This lead to me then scouring ActiveRain University for templates and trainings on how to build a better property search post on ActiveRain. I found this webinar Bob Stewart did in 2014 (Blogging Blueprint) and while I didn't do as comprehensive a post, this provided me great info and a great graphic tool; (also I can now build upon these posts and update them). Suddenly it's 2 a.m. and I'm all fired up with all this new found knowledge. I'm also kicking myself that Bob gave us this info 3 years ago and it took Debbie's contest for me to get off my fanny and do this...so thanks to both of them!
I also went back through several posts and added photo credits and quote credits where In my haste to post, I had not. I think that's very important, one of my biggest fears as a blogger is having a photographer or author say to me, "hey that's mine and you didn't credit me properly!" With all the books I've read, trainings and seminars, I'm not sure any thought out of my head is an original with exception to my stories from my life.
Debbie, this has gone beyond the contest for me. I may update this some more before April, but you've caused me to set aside a dedicated 30 minutes per week to methodically go through and cleanup, correct, update or just delete my older posts. I'm glad for my under 500 posts in this regard, poor Roy Kelley has 15,429 to go through!
