Workers over the age of 65 are staying active in the workforce, opting to delay retirement. In the year 2000, about 13 % of Americans 65 and over reported being employed full or part time. But, by May 2016, that percentage had increased to 18.8%. As such, nearly 9 million Americans that happen to be age 65 and older are employed. Further, over the next five years, that percentage is expected to rise to 32% of the workforce.  See why here

Good afternoon Nick and Cindy,

I retired at 55 and was bored out of my gourd!

Now I will continue to work until the body does not go anymore.

Many that are of retirement age do not have the funds to do so or cannot afford health insurance.

Make yourself an astonishing day.

Interesting article. I can see people continuing to work because they enjoy it (or like Raymond w are bored not working) but it ia a bummer to not be able to retire due to financial reasons.-Kasey
