So I ran by the ATM at my bank this morning to withdraw a little cash. Well, I say MY bank, but really it's the bank that absorbed the bank that absorbed the bank that absorbed MY bank. MY bank was Coastal Bank...people were friendly and I knew the people there. They knew me too.
However, Coastal was bought by Hibernia, in the name of customer service. I didn't really notice better service, but I did notice some of the people I had known in Coastal bank were not there any more.
Then Hibernia was bought by Capital One and I swore I was finding another bank...I mean, afterall Capital One is one of those HUGE, non personal banks, right?
But I digress....
I stopped at the ATM and made my withdrawl. Then I began to count it...
$20....$40.....$60....book of stamps....$80...
WHAAAAAAT??
So I counted the whole thing and I WAS indeed $20 short on my withdrawl...and I hadn't even planned to go to the post office today.
So I parked and went into the branch (lucky for me they were open!).
I was met by a nice gentleman who said he could help me (I didn't recognize him and he didn't recognize me by the way). I explained to him what happened and he said he would talk to the ATM specialist. He went over and talked to a young lady that I didn't recognize and came back with"
"well, it seems the stamps and the $20's were being filled at the same time and got one mixed up".
hmmm...how odd.
So they took my stamps, gave me my $20 and apologized for the mix up. I said thanks and had a little chuckle.
I didn't even know you could BUY stamps in ATMs...
What a funny story! I'll have to share that one...Thanks for posting! :)
