Mountain Biking Year Round In Crested Butte
Crested Butte, Colorado boasts miles and miles of mountain biking trails and sees lots of visitors during it’s warm summer months. But why wait until summer when you can go Mountain biking year round in Crested Butte? The Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association, the oldest of it’s kind in the world, and it’s volunteers has been creating and maintaining trails here for the past 33 years. Recently, with the increased popularity of Fat Bikes, the association has begun maintaining trails in the winter months as well.
“It does not need to be a summer thing, and that was a big focus of what we’re trying to do this year was look to some of the classic and traditional mountain bike trails and be able to lay track out here, and continue to ride it into the winter,” says David Ochs, the new director and first paid staff member of the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association.
