Things are looking up for the Phoenix area metro during 2017.
Scottdale, Arizona a suburb of Phoenix is expected to lead the United States as the #1 best place in US to get a job this year. Fox 10 News reported on their following broadcast dated January 4, 2017 that Wallet Hub studied the 150 major markets in the United States and ranked Scottsdale, Arizona as #1 for job opportunities. Phoenix, suburb sister cities Chandler, Arizona was ranked #7 and Tempe, Arizona was ranked #9. Detroit, Michigan was rated last at #150.
This is good news for the real estate market and expected growth. Realtor.com reported in November 2016 that the Phoenix metro is expected to lead the top 50 US metro areas in year over year real estate sales increases.
Recently, the US Census Bureau reported that the Phoenix metro is expected to lead the US major cities in population growth in 2017 with an average of 222 people per day arriving.
Why this growth? Jobs, educated work force, great weather, affordable housing, open spaces, lower taxes and regulations for business start ups, reasonable proximity to California and beaches all add up to a desirable place to live.
Scottsdale has also been selected as one of the best "foodie" cities in the US and also one of the best places to raise a family.
