Upgrading Your Photography Skills
I realize we're all trying to make a living here, and what we do is difficult and time-consuming, especially if we're doing it right. We never seem to have enough time to do many of the things we need to do, much less those things we'd like to do. And for a lot of us, photography falls into that category of things we'd like to do.
Whenever the subject comes up around here, comments like "I need to improve my skills", or "I'd like to take a course someday" are pretty common. Few of us have aspirations any greater than just having fun or maybe getting to the point where we can do reasonably decent listing photos, but we wouldn't mind upgrading our ability to take memorable photos of our memorable times.
If you fall into that category, a good way to accomplish that goal is to take an on-line course, one you could work on as time permits. Even better would be one that covers a wide range of skills and techniques that will go from the basics to as far as you might want to take it.
If that sounds like something you might be interested in, there is good news. Harvard's Extension Program has just made their photography course Exposing Digital Photography, available on line and for free. I've spent an hour so far poking around in it, watching a few of the videos - it looks like a great resource.
Check it out and maybe save the link for future reference.
