It's That Time Of Year Again..Let The Gardening Begin

gardeningGardening has been one of my hobbies ever since I was a little girl. My Mother raised roses and my Dad a vegetable garden so the need to have my hands in soil goes way back. It is also one of my stress reducers. Many a time I have pulled a weed, planted a flower, freshened up a flower bed and the solution to a problem comes to mind. I also remember this one time I had a client who, no matter what I did, was never pleased or happy... I had the best looking flower beds ever that year as I yanked every weed out I could see.

Yep.... it was a great stress reducer

I am not able to garden quite as much as I once did due to that old friend Arthur. I do get out and 'play' now and again as it always feels good to get my hands dirty in the cold, rich soil. And I love pushing the wheel barrel around and tidying up as I go. This year will be mostly maintenance work on the rose garden and Iris garden. many plants are now grown in pots to sit around the deck and make it easier on me.

I do not think the gardening girl will ever totally go away no matter how obnoxious ol' Arthur becomes.

Yeah, another gardening fanatic. I also enjoy seeing the fruits of my labor every morning. Be it fruit trees, herbs or flowers, what I like seeing the most is growth from the fruits of my labor.

Martha, I'm noticing that first order of business is I need to break out the lawnmower before I lose our Chihuahuas.  And there are definitely some weeds to pull.  And I only got a pallet and a half of my three pallets of mulch down last fall before it good too cold to mess with it, so another side project as my knee allows :)  Bill

I've got some major weeding to do before we put our annual mulch down. Things are just starting to bud so I've gotta get busy!

Belinda That is one flower we plant very little of. Not sure why. maybe it is time we change that.

Thanks Pat. It does bring back wonderful memories

Bill we have been saying the same thing. Need to pick up some debri first from the last big wind. Always something to do when you live on 5 acres. LOL

William- Hubby does too. he loves starting from seeds. We even have a lemon tree growing from a seed. It is about 2 feet tall now.

Debe- Luckily we have part of the mulch down. two truckloads with another 3 in the forcast. That is work.
