Wilton schools have received many awards throughout the years and you will find that our town in committed to continuing that excellence in education. We have many parents who dedicate time and energy to helping the schools, and the students who attend them, thrive. Our town has very active Parent Teacher Associations in each of the four schools; Miller Driscoll PTA, Cider Mill PTA, Middlebrook PTA and Wilton High School PTSA, numerous booster clubs and a Wilton Education Foundation dedicated to enriching the lives of its' students.
The Vision Statement on the Wilton Public Schools website reflects the educational attitude of our wonderful town succinctly, "Wilton graduates will be innovators, collaborators and creative critical thinkers who are socially responsible, civic-minded and demonstrate the virtues of compassion and empathy."
Recognizing its diverse student population, the staff, administrators and parents have designed a program that acknowledges each student's interests, abilities, and goals. There are four public schools that make up our school system:
Miller-Driscoll – PK – 2nd
Cidermill – 3 – 5
Middlebrook – 6 - 8
Wilton High School – 9 – 12
Miller-Driscoll, our Elementary School, is recognized by the Connecticut State Department of Education as an “Excelling School”. Miller-Driscoll recently incorporated a full day Kindergarten program into the school. There is an Early Learning Center on campus offering an Integrated Preschool Program where children with age-appropriate skills and children with identified special education needs learn together in a challenging and supportive learning environment. The building is currently undergoing a major renovation to be completed Labor Day 2017.
Cider Mill services grades 3 – 5 and is recognized by the State of Connecticut as a “School of Distinction” because of its outstanding academic achievements.
Middlebrook, Wilton’s middle school, is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School and by the State of Connecticut as a “School of Distinction”.
Wilton High School was recognized as a 2017 School of Distinction, one of only 5 schools in the state. WHS is proud to have six National Merit Semifinalists in the 2017 National Merit Scholarship Program attend school here. In 2016, WHS ranked 2nd best public high school in Connecticut by Newsweek and 56th by Newsweek on its annual list of America’s Top 500 Public High Schools. WHS is accredited by the New England Association of Secondary Schools and Colleges. Recognized for excellence, Wilton High School provides a rigorous curriculum that meets the diverse needs of our student population. Wilton definitely has bragging rights to wonderful educational opportunities. Our school system here is highly rated and very competitive with surrounding towns and the quality of the schools is a primary reason that people move to Wilton!
