Bugs to be fixed at the stroke of midnight - (A | R to go down for 5 minutes)

After working nearly an all night shift last night releasing a new upgrade for ActiveRain, our development team awoke this morning to a few system bugs and more than a few bewildered Rainers. Fortunately the development team persevered through the day and successfully tracked down the causes of all of the bugs and have programmed the fixes. However, to "debug", we've got to take the site down for a couple minutes to upload the remedies to the main servers. To minimize as much lost work as possible we decided to wait until midnight PST to take ActiveRain down and upload the fixes.

Recap: ActiveRain will go offline at midnight. All unsaved work (including blog posts, comments, etc.) will be lost.  When ActiveRain comes back online - bugs will be fixed and harmony restored... hopefully.

You guys are awesome...I for one would like to say THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK, and remind the people that are complaining...it's a FREE site!  Liz

PS, still don't forget my problem I've been having for sometime about the associates I can't see on my home page :).  Rich and Bob know about it.  I can see only one page, and I have 3 pages, but when you look at it, you see them all????

So while you're at it, please fix my little side issue too.  Chow

YEA, you got the boarder fixed on pictures!old photo 1944  I just posted this, and just for grins tried the boarder, and it works!  Spell check still not working, however if you pull up active rain using Internet Explorer and have the Google tool bar up you can click on the Google spell check and it checks the AR too.  I've been using it the whole time AR spell check has been down and it works great!  I will write a post on that for you till you get spell check fixed on AR.  I hope you all have a wonderful Mothers Day.  Be sure to hug your Mothers tightly.  I miss mine so much she was not only beautiful but she was my best friend.  She was unconditional love at its finest!  Liz

Testing to see if the Vanishing Comment bug got fixed....

Now, let's see if the comment can survive an edit.....

Now.... checking My Home, yep, the comment is showing up.

Too bad I've now forgotten all the brilliant comments I made yesterday that went to the big bit bucket in the sky.  :-)

Thanks for all of the effort. I don't know if I should classify this as a bug or if it's an actual change to the system. But the following is something I now notice.

For those of us who are registered with AR as a "Brokerage", the brokerage name field instead of first and last name fields, is now being displayed in the comment "by" field.

Is this a bug or a permanent change?

05/10/2008 08:38 AM by DDR Realty, Orange County, NY

Thanks for working on the problems, but I get the impression that all the comments we made yesterday that did not get points  are lost and we wont be able to get credit for them, is this correct?

Howdy Jon

I know you Y'all are doing your best, and see Y'all have been doing some work, thank ya for that.

I have a Computer and Programing back ground. I also have an A+ Certification. So I do understand what the Team is going through with all this.

The photo upload link and still the ability to link is still not working as of 10:25 A.M. in NH.

Made a comment to a friend, and it took 12 and 1/2 min. to upload the comment.

I do Thank you for all the work you are doing and working on fixing every thing.

Have a good one

Dale

Derrick, my fix fo this was to edit my profile .... on the company line, type in your name (comma) your brokerage name......

Hi again,

I just checked: as of this morning, my comments and points are not showing up on My Home or in Points  :(

05/10/2008 09:55 AM by Twin Cities Minnesota Real Estate - Marzena Melby (Counselor Realty, Inc.)

My comment points on comments I did before midnight your time last night are not showing either.  I haven't checked to see if the comments are showing up or not...I guess I should go and do that too.

05/10/2008 09:58 AM by Summit County, Colorado Realtor l Joanne Hanson (Coldwell Banker Colorado Rockies Real Estate)

Cheryl - Thank you. But I'm curious to know if it's a bug or if this change was made intentionally. I do realize your suggestion would achieve the goal for comments. But then my name would be displayed wherever the "Brokerage Name" field is displayed throughout the rest of the system. I'm not sure if I want that.

05/10/2008 10:17 AM by DDR Realty, Orange County, NY

NO points for any comments made on 5/9/08.  Comments are showing up now in the messages on MY HOME and points are being awarded now, but none were given for Yesterday.

It is not working for me as well.  We will work on it.

I still don't have any points for yesterdays comments - BLR Guy

Matt emailed me this morning to let me know that he is going to try and build a script today that will give our members points for comments they made yesterday.

I am not showing up with my BLRGuy nickname - BLR Guy

That is because you are registered as a brokerage. I do not believe that what is happening there is intentional, at least as far as I know it is not. I will find out today and post another comment with the official answer.

Just wondering if the link button on the comment area suppose to be up also? - Don

Which comment link buttons? While drafting a comment I have the ability to link.

(If) registered with AR as a "Brokerage", the brokerage name field instead of first and last name fields, is now being displayed in the comment "by" field. - Derrick

See comment and answer by BLR Guy above.

all the comments we made yesterday that did not get points  are lost - Christopher

Good morning Jon, Thank you for all of your hard work in trying to resolve all of the bugs.  I am sure that this can be a very daunting undertaking and you don't need anymore complaints but, my link buttons on the toolbars in both my blog and in the comment box are not working.  Any idea when this may be corrected?

Thanking you in advance for all of your help in this amtter.
