Yesterday I wrote about a place I had been a number of years ago. This was a land of contrasts. In this place the people are poor and the statues are were all covered in gold. I just couldn't get over the extremes: poor people slaving over golden statues without shoes and the these grandiose golden tributes to a Buddha. This reclining Buddha is one of the biggest in Asia and was taken in Bangkok, Thailand. Here is another picture from the area:
