No egrets.
Or, more accurately, two egrets. They were sitting in the water peacefully at the Meadowlands Environmental Center when I startled them.
If you haven't been to the Meadowlands Environmental Center yet, it's definitely worth the trip. Lots of hiking paths, beautiful views of this delicate ecosystem. Here is an older blog I wrote about it.

We see them often at the Meadowlands, but nowhere else in the State (that I know of!).
