One of the benefits of living where I do in San Francisco is that every Tuesday evening I can grab my yoga mat and walk to the top of Nob Hill, to Grace Cathedral, and join the 600-700 yogis who practice there each week.
One man I see most weeks is Charles Weinbar. In a wheelchair, he is an inspiration to anyone who might think, "I'm not in shape" or "I'm too old and stiff" or "I'm not as strong/lithe/limber as the 30-somethings who make up the majority of the attendees."
Watch his story as told to AARP, get inspired about what the human spirit can achieve, and join me in being thankful for Reverend Jude Harmon, yoga teacher Darrin Main, and the wonderful experience they provide the community week after week.
If you are living your San Francisco dream, why not come to Grace Cathedral for some yoga. Tuesdays evenings, 6:15-7:30 -- but plan to arrive by 5:45 to grab a spot on the floor for your mat. 700 people can fill even a huge space like Grace Cathedral. This is a donation-based class, so donate if you can ($15-$20 is a suggestion) but come even if you can't donate. You will be welcome.
