Visit a Division Toastmaster International Speech Contest and you can see what I mean. I attended one today, and one last two last Saturday. There is no cost, free, you just sit, listen and be quiet.
Each of the contestants are initially about 50 people out of 2,240. In Arizona, we have approximately 225 Toastmaster Clubs. And a little over 2,000 members, and eventually in May we will end up with six or eight of the BEST out of over 2000, or at least of those who had the courage to step up and compete. There are Toastmaster Clubs ALL AROUND THE WORLD. And less than $97.00 for being a member six months!
You see with practice, and progress, there are many others who could show up and be better than the last few on the district stage, unfortunately many do not have the drive, passion, confidence, courage, and discipline to step up and get in front of 20 people who are members of the same club and who want to see the speaker succeed.
One of the six contestants talked today about the 70,000 thoughts we as humans have every day, and how the huge majority of those thoughts are negative, and the only one who can control and change that is: YOU!
We are a country who are highly blessed, yet we for the most part sit back and play spectator.
I understand it may take you months or even years but if you would only choose what it is you really have a passion for and what you dream of doing, you could totally change your life.
You don’t have to become a multimillionaire, consider million, or half of a million.
I will be the first one to tell you money is by far not #1 I believe your health is #1. And if you have decent health and want money, you can accomplish it, just simply by coming up with an idea, then a plan of how to cause that idea to come to fruition.
If it takes a year, three, five or even ten years, just think of how you will feel, where you will be and how you can benefit so many other people instead of staying in the average or below average arena the rest of your life.
