Pricing Sacramento Real Estate is Like the Everglades

By
Real Estate Agent with Elizabeth Anne Weintraub, Broker DRE #00697006

The saying goes you can't swing a dead cat (that's a terrible saying) without hitting a real estate agent in Sacramento. That's because about 1 in every 35 people in California holds a real estate license. It might be buried at the bottom of a drawer somewhere, but they have it. And as such, they're always talking about real estate even if they aren't really active in the business.

Normal people, you know, those guys who don't have a real estate license, why, they talk about real estate, too. We can't help ourselves in California. It's like a disease. Which means I don't take it personally when one of my sellers ask me to clarify some stupid thing they heard at an open house somewhere. You can't stop them from talking.

On top of that, unless an agent is actually selling a lot of homes or hanging out with somebody who is, they probably don't have the correct answer. Because a strategy that worked 10 years ago might not be the right strategy for today's market. The truth is real estate is like flowing river of grass, like the Everglades, it's contantly changing.

It pays to stay on top of what is happening. You can read more about this in my personal blog today at this link: Home Pricing Strategies for Selling Homes in Elk Grove.

Well good grief,  I have never heard that saying ... you can't swing a dead cat! That is a horrible expression. Real estate is constantly changing and active professionals are on top of changes and trends and better serve those who hire them ... their clients.  Happy Easter!!!

Hi Elizabeth -- I'm laughing at Kathleen Daniels' comment about swinging dead cats while I think of Glenn Close and boiling bunnies.   No No No.

You never know what you may "pick up" while attending an open house.  Yes, they are addictive for some but those who really want to sell and for the best price in the Sacramento area need experienced representation who stays current on the market.  Your record speaks volumes to your successful strategies.

What a terrific analogy, Elizabeth. Of course, being a cat lover I also don't like that saying of swinging a dead cat. And all these years, I thought that to be allowed to live in California you had to have a real estate license!
