We do not live on Fantasy Island. In the real world there will be adversity. You are so right, we can choose to stand or we can choose to run. We will grow when we choose to stand.

Standing our ground and overcoming the adversities that we are faced with is what shapes our success in life.

I agree that challenges and adversity can make us grow stronger and better.   They say that trees grow stronger when they have wind blowing against them... since it deepens their root system and makes them stronger. 

Lou, we do see adversity at every corner of a transaction, and we learn by these and get stronger.

Adversity does not make character, it reveals it.  So when the tough times hit, you find out what you're made of.  Will you stand your ground or cut and run.  That's the trait you find in youself.  And it may take several events before you find the strength and conviction to stand your ground.
