Preparing Your Home For Sale? Increase Perceived Value With Mulch.

Spring cleaning is not just for indoors....

if you haven't already spruced up the exterior, it's time for some landscape CPR.

For those of us just now crawling out from under all that snow, it's time to bring our yards back to life. All that dead grass and those dried up brown leaves can be depressing. Let's not forget the fallen branches strewn about. Old man winter was not kind, but he has moved on. Let the beautification begin!

If you are preparing to list your home for sale, it's especially important to take the spring cleaning outside and present an attractive front!

Even though the landscaping hasn't quite come alive yet, there is one way you can dramatically improve potential buyers' first impression of your property.

Make Magic with Mulch!

Mulch is to the exterior what paint is to the interior!

Mulch defines a space.

It adds depth, richness and sophistication.

More importantly, mulch increases the perceived value of your property.

Using mulch is like dressing your property for success!

It's like a really good bra....

it lifts and separates!

A clean attractive landscape that greets home buyers at the curb, is one of those things that can make such a difference when marketing.

Good morning Sharon. I'm still laughing at the bra line. You are good. I love the look of dark mulch too and the smell.

Hi Sharon -- some landscaping CPR and a comparison of mulch as a magical brassiere connection.   Hmm...the photoshop possibilities.

Bringing a bland landscape to life with mulch, such a great idea my friend and I agree that it looks much better!

Ed Silva  It's worth the extra effort to keep out those weeds....saves a lot of time and effort in the long run.

Anna Banana Kruchten, CRS  What? you never compared mulch to bras? LOL

Patricia Feager Agreed....frosting indeed!

Sybil Campbell  I love the contrast it creates!

Myrl Jeffcoat  You have to create appeal right from the curb before they even step inside the home!

Sally K. & David L. Hanson  I've never seen purple mulch before!

Sheila Anderson  I've never liked the orange stuff. I prefer the rich dark chocolate mulch.

Michael Jacobs  I have no idea where to go with that!  LOL

Brian England  Makes the property look richer and well maintained.

Hi Sharon - Excellent advice. We much prefer mulch over rock, which is also popular here but makes weeding hard. We have to use gorilla hair, though - which is redwood bark - because of the high winds that are common here - it doesn't disappear as quickly.

Sharon- we were walking in the neighborhood the other day and the mulched lawns stood out!  Mulch is the icing on the cake! BTW- regarding your reference, I do not have much to lift of separate.

Just look at the difference!  That is one tip that I give all sellers - it's cheap and makes SUCH a huge difference.  Great advice, Sharon!

Dick Greenberg  I've never heard of Gorilla Hair....that's a fun name! The rocks can be a real pain for upkeep. I have rocks around the foundation.

Gene Mundt, IL/WI Mortgage Originator - FHA/VA/Conv/Jumbo/Portfolio/Refi  Glad you liked it. Hope it inspires sellers to improve their landscapes!

Kathy Streib  You are perfect just as you are....regardless of lifting and/or separating!

Debe Maxwell, CRS Huge bang for the buck! Well worth the effort!

My husband and I love black mulch and the contrast it makes to our landscape. Before we sold our last home we invested almost $1000 to have fresh mulch added to all the landscape beds. We had flower beds all around the house. It looked great and helped it sell, I am sure.

Grant Schneider  Can't wait to have mine done, but I see no point in doing until the pollen season ends. Anxiously waiting to add that final touch!

Mick Michaud  It's getting time to do the mulch thing again this year....waiting for pollen season to be over though. We skipped last year so it really needs a good dose of mulch this year!
