Sleeping on the Job

I work from home and sometimes I feel like I have trouble getting anything done.  I don't have problems with the laundry calling me, or other cleaning or household tasks.  This is my problem...

My dear kitties are always wanting to be part of the action, getting in the way and finally, falling asleep on my desk.  It's hard to lock them out, but it has to be done.  Can't imagine working from home with kids!  How do you Mom's do it?

Chris, Don't forget about us dads.  I plan on taking two day a week to stay home with the kids this summer.  I hope I am not biting off more than I can chew.

Jimmy:  Did not mean to intentionally exclude you Dads.  I was thinking with my extra X chromosone.  ;)

Chris - I rememeber oh so well. i had a black cat just like that....and she just loved to get into and be a part of everything I did!....my cat ran away while my sister in-law was cat-sitting, could that be her???

I work at home more during the school year, and at the office more in the summer! And my cat does the same thing, but tries to lay ON the keyboard!

When I work from home, it's not the laundry that's calling me, it's the kitchen - eating not cooking! ;-)   I work in the office, most days.  The best part is we get to make that choice.

Very cute.  The cat always has to be the center of attention.  I love how they sit on my book when I'm reading too.  Kids are just as bad.  They never have anything to tell you until you pick up the phone.  Then everything is very important and they must say it NOW.  lol

Chris - So cute! I have a black cat that looks just like your's :) And I know what you mean, I could be typing on the computer and he'll come up on the desk and start walking back and forth :)

Carol:  Shadow's a he.  But definitely a spry guy.  I have to be careful not to let him near a door.  Too curious.

Shannon:  Sometimes he acts like he wants to type.  It's cute, but annoying when I'm focused on working.

Andy:  I'll definitely check out your blog. Thanks for dropping by.

Chris:  I guess anything that takes attention away from pets and kids just make them crazy. Love your lady bug!

Maria:  I wouldn't trade him for the world! Not even when he sits right in front of the computer screen...like yours does I'm sure.

Hi Chris Ann,
With much difficulty, that is how!  Well, my little one is in playschool for a few hours each day so to be perfectly honest, that is when I get most of my work done.

Cynthia:  My hat is off to you.  I don't think I would ever be productive.  Hope you have a Happy Mother's Day!!

Two of our cats are notorious for doing the very same thing.  I push them off the desk over and over again, and eventually they'll go lay down somewhere else.  There is really nothing else that I can do!

That's what my husband says, but then I remind him that the office has a door and he should shut it.  You see, primarily, they bug him.  Unfortunately, he's too much of a softy to lock them out.  He doesn't want them to feel rejected.  ;)

I'm going to be a kitty in my next life!

05/15/2008 05:36 PM by JoLynn Pipkin, DCC (Simple Details Redesign, LLC)

JoLynn:  I'm right there with you.  Sunbeams, kitty treats, cat naps. What's not to love?

05/15/2008 09:08 PM by Chris Ann Cleland, GRI (Long & Foster)

Right know as I type she is laying beside the keyboard!  Alseep of course. The funny thing is I have to slide her over or the head and paws start to type for me!!
