We have been renovating our home for quite some time. I don't even want to tell you how long.  Sometimes I think we will just get it done and sell it but lately I have had a new thinking.

I love my home and where it is located. I love busy street, the four bedrooms, the family room off the kitchen.  The new floors that will be going in and the new drapes I will be hanging up.  The new furniture, lamps and kitchen I am going to purchase.  This is going to be a showplace but in the meantime I am loving it just the way it is.  I am glad that I have had this long experience with doing our home.  I can appreciate it more and I can help my clients too if they have similar experiences.

In my estimation, there are 2 great streets in Needham that I would love to live on and they are:  Woodlawn Street or Fair Oaks Park Fair Oaks Park is my absolute favorite one. These two streets are so great.  Who wouldn't want to live on either one.   If I lived on either street I would not have my best friend of 37 years right behind me.  I would not have a great little farm I can take my grandkids to so they can see the animals, that is, Owen's Poultry Farm.  I wouldn't be able to walk to the village of Needham Heights.   The more I think about it I am thrilled to be right where I am and very grateful too.  But I do love Fair Oaks Park and I think I could be persuaded to move there.  Just take a look at it on google earth or live search maps.

Someday our home will be just the way we want it to be but in the meantime I am going to enjoy it just the way it is with all it's shortcomings.   A work in progress which makes life more interesting and exciting everytime we do something else to our home.

Morning Pat,

Don't you just love it when things get finished, one by one and then every one of those projects come together! From the sound of it those other streets are lovely and beautiful too, however, HOME is where you make it and it looks like you have done a good job making yours.

My wife and I bought a 50 year old Victorian from the orignal owners, worked at restoring it little by little. Many years and two children later we finished the last room, the bathroom. That was on June 26 th. We signed a contract to sell the home five days later. UH! Yes, we have wonderful memories of the project, the hard times and the wonderful house!

Pat, what a great localism post!  You've got to be tired from renovating but satisfied with the results. We're renovating a lake house right now (quickly so we can rent it!) and it's a lot of fun to put our touches in it.
