Who says this is a bad market

I can't understand the media who contiually puts our negative comments about the market.  Yes, it is different but why does that make it bad.  Living in Northern California in the heart of Silicon Valley,  I wonder where the rescission is.  My wife and I went out to dinner last monday night and had to wait for a table.  This is a wonderful time to buy.  I just wish I was in the market right now.  Prices have softened (slightly),  rates are low and sellers are open to better offers (e.g. making some repairs, etc)  What more could a buyer ask for.  Will they wait until prices go up,  and at the same time interest rates.

Here is the real answer.  If you live in an area that you think people want to live in and you expect that employment will continue,  then real estate is always a good investment.  In northern California,  we are in the heart o Silicon Valley.   It is the center of technology and will continue for a long time.  Also,  it is gorgeous here and the weather is fabulour.

Agents are always telling me that it isn't there place to tell the clients what they think.  I believe that agents should always tell the clients the truth.  And, if they believe that it is time to buy, then they should sell a little harder.  years from now, the clients will thank them.

Maybe to the media, BAD=LESS ACTIVE AND AGRESSIVE THAN IT WAS THE PAST THREE YEARS?

I don't know but I have noticed that it seems to be the media that feeds the fear of what the market is doing.  I get calls all the time of people wanting to buy or to sell but they are just uncertain.

I  agree that the media feeds into the fears of what the market is doing. My wife and I went out to dinner last week and the place was packed. She also attended a concert last week and came home and told me that the arena was packed. I know a lot are having trouble, but I do think the media is making everyone crazy.

My feelings are the same. I think the media is giving the wrong statistics. The NAR statistics prove this to be the case too. Look at the numbers compared to the last few years. Personally I am having a better year this year than last year.

The economy seems to be alive and well here in central New Jersey.  The restaurants, malls and movie theatres are jampacked and my last three listings have had multiple offers.  I should invite a camera crew over.

The media is only out to sell advertisements. Ratings equals $$$ and bad news sells in the media.
