What a lovely tribute.  As a Motherless Mom (15 years now) it gets more bearable with time. You will always miss her, but she is with you in your heart and it is there, where the best of memories live.

Hi Allison - thank you for those kind words, and you're right about her being in my heart, just as your mom is in yours.  Wonderful memories for sure.

What a lovely post. Thank you for sharing. we lost out Mom fourteen years ago and I miss her like it was just yesterday. However, my mind and heart is filled with happy, loving memories. I am sure yours is as well. Concentrate of those memories and enjoy each day you are blessed with.

Hi Hal - thank you.  Moms do have such a special place within us all, don't they?  I do celebrate and cherish all the memories just as you do.  We are lucky to be able to do that, because it means we had wonderful relationships with our moms.

My mom and I went to the card store the other day picked out cards for each other exchanged them in the store appreciated the thought, put them back.  A tradition that my mother and grandmother had...

Ann, beautiful ThemThem to your Mom. I'm sorry for your and the families loss. I love the old photo's, nice hair in the 70's photo. I can recall those days yet. Are we that old? Grin.

Ann, I too lost my mom, back in 2004.  Most days it's OK, but on a day like today, the tears seem to flow a little easier, the memories are a little sharper and missing her just seems so BIG and hard to handle.  I love the photos - thanks for sharing them.

Hey Colleen - what a neat tradition!  My family has some oddball things we do at different times - that's what makes us us!  I hope you had a nice Mother's Day today - Happy Mother's Day!!

Duane - I have some really cool black and white family pictures and some great ones of my mom and dad when they were back in high school dating.  Love those!

Marti - I agree with you about the black and white feeling warm.  As I mentioned in my comment to Duane, I have some really special black and white pictures of my family, and of my mom and dad back when they were dating in high school.  I love that black and white picture of the 5 generations of my family.  I have several copies of that, and love each of them.

I was showing a home the other day, and they had a beautiful wall full of black and white pictures of their kids and parents.  It was really striking because we're so used to seeing color.  I loved it, and may try to make my own version here at home.  It was really neat to see how they did that.

Lisa - yes, days like today just emphasize her absence and all that isn't anymore, and the tears flow.  I hope you were able to enjoy good memories today.  I did, and I know she knows how much I miss her and love her, and I feel her all around me.  I'm glad you enjoyed my pictures!

Ann, I am sorry about your mom. My husbands mom passed away 4 years ago and we went to her gravesite this morning to put flowers there. It is always sad to do this and I find myself thinking how lucky I am to still have my mom and dad still around. They are in their 80's and getting more feeble by the minute, yet they are here. I cannot bring myself to think about them not being here, even though it's hard to have a conversation that they remember anymore. We then went to my son's girlfriends mother and she had a book called 90 minutes of Heaven. You might want to read it. It may make you feel better.

Ann those are the type of memories that last for ever and that no one can ever take away.

Hi Karen - you are lucky, and I know you cherish them.  It's interesting that you mention "90 Minutes of Heaven", as I just got an email in the last couple of days with a short excerpt video about that.  It did look like a good book.  Thanks for suggesting that - I'll make it a point to check it out further.

Hi Chuck - I had spent some time doing that same thing, and it is really cool to read all those posts.  I shed a few tears in doing so, but they were good tears.  And thank you for reading my post about my mom - I surely do miss her.
