I was told that they knew it was not much money,"but I should consider the lessons I would learn".
While I worked there, I dusted, vacuumed the carpets, washed the hearse, shoveled snow, lost sleep and did things that I did not find particularly pleasant. But never did I consider not doing the job well because the pay was low.
I have held that view throughout my life. If I agree to do something and I know what the pay is upfront, you can be assured I will do the job to the best of my ability.
As a Real Estate agent, the lessons I learned at the Funeral Home have helped me serve the consumer as a professional, no matter what walk of life they are from and have given each of them the quality of service they should receive.
I learned a work ethic at a young age. I learned that no matter what the circumstances bring I can perform as a Professional. I learned not to be intimidated nor to intimidate another person no matter their status in life.
Today, and this is many years later, the consumers I work with can expect these lessons I learned at the funeral home will be a part of the service I provide them.
