Bridge, Edgewood WA

This steel-truss bridge, at peace in a grassy field in Edgewood, WA was something I passed for several months on my way to and from a client. It has a venerable history, having been built in 1925 and only decommissioned in 2013 and brought to land in 2015. The Washington State Department of Transportation hopes to do right by this magnificent structure - the agency is trying to sell it whole. Reduce, reuse and recycle at its finest. I'd love to have it in a garden.

What an interesting topic! I hope the bridge is restored and put to good use. It has so much great potential! When I think about the men who built bridges (like my grandfather), there's a special kind of tugging at my heart.

Patricia Feager I have a similar reaction to skyscrapers. I'm a NYC kid, and my father helped build the World Trade Center.

Aren't old bridges great?  Much like Patricia Feager my great-uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and his father built stone bridges in Rhode Island that we have visited for the better part of a century!
