Stand up or Sit down

I was speaking to a friPhoneend concerning making making presentations over the telephone. The topic was over if standing or sitting was the better while presenting over the phone. I suggest that I would let the Activerain community waigh in on this and bring a prospective that neither of us considered.

I sugget standing up it is a tool that add power and confidence to your demeanor. On the downside you need to walk to a desk with a pen if you need to take notes.

What works for you?

I have never done a presentation over the phone. If the person lives at a distance, I will put together a presentation and email to them.  Then we speak on the phone if there any questions

I am a stand up kinda guy. I think that you open up your lungs, diaphram and get more energy from standing.

This post may apply more to a mortgage originator that a Realtor.  As a loan originator you often are required to make telephone presentation.  It is often applied to Realtors when you have a deal falling apart and you have to pitch an adhoac sales presentation to keep a deal in your pipeline.

When you are selling an idea you are making a presentation.  I hoping this would be read with a macro understanding of presentation.

Confidence is the main thing to have when talking on the phone. Standing is preferred when it can be done, but sitting is fine.

Gee, I had to think about this one. Yes, I stand up when I am making a presentation over the phone. I wonder out into my garden and run back to pick up my pen and paper. I will find a place in the garden for a pen and paper for the future. When I was working in my corporate position, I would also pace my office floor.

I'm with you, I always pace when I'm on the phone. I must be high strung.
