Why Did I Block This Sacramento Mortgage Broker From My Email?

One of the things about yourself that some people really struggle to learn is that you can just about always trust your gut instincts. But some people don't trust themselves to make the right decisions so they feel conflicted. I say trust yourself. You won't lead yourself down the wrong road.

 

For example, a long time ago, I don't know when, I blocked a certain mortgage broker from my email account. I don't even know why, but in my most recent experience with this guy, I had come to realize he was blocked from my email. I know I must have had a good reason, because I felt like doing it again.

Good morning, Elizabeth -- while I don't welcome "bad news" I'd still rather hear about it than wonder what's happening.  In life.  And in real estate.   Now about that Cabernet...is it time to toast another closing?

Michael Jacobs Yeah, me, too, just tell us what happening. And yes, it is time to toast another closing. But I tell ya, I felt really silly sending out that third extension to the seller and having to explain that we do not know why the lender can't close on time.

I had a transaction late last year that reminded me of your tale, although I was on the buyer side - worst experience I have had in a while. The lack of communication, even from the higher-ups in the organization, and the contradictory stories were particularly frustrating. I wouldn't use that lender if my life depended on  it.

That HomeStreet MLO definitely needs to be on your "S" list.  I had two with SunTrust that have had mortgage related delays that were aggravating and completely avoidable.   Of course, avoidable in the competent hands of a good MLO.

I feel your pain, Elizabeth. Fortunately, I haven't had this experience but once in the past several years. The thing to do is unblock this lender just so you have the enjoyment of blocking them once again!

I had a buyer once who insisted on using a specific mortgage company. It tooks months before the mortgage company rejected the mortgage - for a condo-related reason that should have been identified in the first few days. I recommend mortgage brokers who I know are going to get the job done!

Jeff Dowler Unfortunately buyers often don't know what they are getting when they choose a mortgage broker. If they did, they wouldn't choose the wrong ones. We have preferred lenders standing by to pick up the pieces . . .

Chris Ann Cleland Well, I think he already is since it was his specific email that I had previously blocked, LOL. The buyer's agent disliked the guy immensely. I only talked with him once, and he seemed nice enough but presents poor communication skills.

Kat Palmiotti I don't know why some buyers are reluctant to let us help them to choose a mortgage broker. Even when I moved to California, I had my own ideas about whom to select, but I let my agent choose and it went smoothly.
