This is a very cool contest and got me thinking back to when I first started doing real estate. I didn't really have the money to invest in a professional photographer, so I made a go of it myself with my first few listings. I soon learned, that whether I had the money or not, hiring a professional photographer was the way to go!
The photo above is a shot that I took myself without any editing. I actually think it turned out pretty good. Below is the same photo that I just went back and edited some. It looks a little bit better, but I defintiely don't have the editing skills that professional photographers do.
After 6 days on market without any offers, the wife (seller) started to freak out, haha. She felt we were priced too high and we needed to drop it. I felt confident that we were priced well, even though at the top of the market and the husband was comfortable too. Since she was freaked out, I felt that if I got professional photos, it would help sell the listing better and quicker, so I scheduled it.
Above is the photo from the professional photographer. Of course, we got a full price offer before I could even upload the professional photos to the MLS, but I did so anyways, haha. For me, I don't love this photo, as I feel it cut out part of the home since the side gate isn't showing. Maybe it's because the listing photos that I use today are so much better, haha. What do you think, which picture do you find most appealing?
