As a local I am lucky enough to live just a few minutes away from what is considered the cultural hub and town center of Scenic 30A. And upstairs, the American classic Central Square Records never disappoints with its cool, quirky merchandise and thoughtful selection of new and used vinyl and CDs. You may just be lucky enough to catch one of their in-store events, where local and visiting musical talents can show their stuff with a gulf view.
Don’t forget to check out Ruskin Place. Tucked behind the Central Square, this quiet park is surrounded by winding oak trees, art galleries, boutiques and gorgeous private residences. Seaside is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset. Grab dinner at one of the hip airstream vendors, the BBQ nachos at Barefoot Barbeque never disappoint. Or if you are in the mood for something a little more refined, try 45 Central, Seaside’s newest wine bar by award-winning chef and owner, Jim Shirley. (P.S. you don’t want to miss their paella every Wednesday and Friday night, it is worth making a special trip!) And no visit to Seaside is complete without hearing the sunset bell at Bud and Alley’s. Their lively rooftop bar is the iconic Seaside evening gathering spot, but locals will tell you the pavilion at the Shrimp Shack is equally as breathtaking at any time of the day.
