There are many valuable and powerful tools using ActiveRain Video, these are just some of my favorite that I wanted to share and let you know are available.  Comparing these Video Hosting Sites these past few months has been challenging, only because there are so many.  Each unique in it's own way. I totally support ANY video platform that can help your business marketing and advertising.

Here's a recent post Video in Real Estate Is Viral!  be sure to check that one out.

7 unique things about ActiveRain Video for existing users and others who might be interested.

  1. Everything is ALL online.  This allows you access to your library of videos anytime and from any computer with internet access.  No software is needed to upload, edit, produce and publish your video media.

  2. Adding Links in the body of a Video is so new and unique, most viewers don't even know it's there.  We're finding that many of us video users are having to add words like "CLICK HERE" or "MORE DETAILS" so people know that the video is inter-active. This IMO, is one of the best features.

  3. One click SEO. A single check in the box allows the search engines to crawl and index your videos. I have seen some of my video files I've posted show up at the top of Google in a matter of hours. Try it for yourself and test it, you'll be blown away.

  4. Online Back-end analytics.  These graphs and reports give you information about your videos, and provide some very unique tools and data. Mixpo offers it's own custom analytics for each and every video in your library. Example:

# How many have viewed video and their location

# What percentage of the video viewers watched

# How many times and if it was viewed more than once

# How viewers found your video and the embed links

# How many total views, impressions and conversions

5.  Single edit auto population. When editing video from your ActiveRain library, any updates, changes or modifications you make to videos, automatically updates ALL the internet locations you have that video embedded. This is another very unique tool, it will save you tons of editing and placement time, and time is money.

6.  Create Templates. Templates allow you to simplify the creating and editing time.  You can create master intro's, endings, and custom ads all through-out.  Then just remove previous video and drop in the new video, and you're done in minutes, not hours.

Just FYI - there is also a library with over 1150 images, videos, photos, and motion backgrounds. There are hundreds of background tracks and audio clips to use, all included online and at your fingertips.

7.  Video ad Rotation.  Let's say you have 10 video listings in your library, and you want them to rotate on your Blog or Website.  Mixpo lets you select which ones and then automatically rotates them each time the embedded player refreshes.  I couldn't find that type of feature anywhere else, though it may still exist.

That's It - My Favorite Seven (7)

The purpose of this post is
to try and help increase and heighten the awareness of Video in our Real Estate Community, and how it can impact your readers and your business.  What's available? What are the key features and benefits?  How can it help?  How do I do it?  These help files, and the tutorials I have posted previously, are for those who have asked for them, or who are currently considering using Video.

Having come from the Title and Escrow Industry, I know that often times I come across as though I'm trying to sell you something...sorry, go ahead and spank me for that bad habit now!  LOL!~ We're just making another tool available to members if they want or see the need for it in their business.  Video for Real Estate is, and will become MORE prominant on the Web in a very short time. It's already one of the Worlds most "Viral" components on the Internet.

Coming soon ...the ability to FTP or transfer your videos from Mixpo so that they can be used and posted in other local and Internet locations, like your server, your desktop, maybe youtube and some of the other video hosting sites like these.

Hi Brad, Thanks for all this good information. Is it me or is the $$ per year subscription for video editing and posting not seem expensive? I am enthusiastic about doing more video shooting but I am not willing to post things that are not that good yet. I was going to sign up to try it out but I would rather save the opportunity for when I am better prepared with enough material that I could make a judgement about the service.  I will say this, I think we all appreciate that AR is looking out for our best interests and provide these types of connections. It will come with continual effort.

Brad,

Just when I think I'm beginning to learn something about blogging, the video thing comes along.  When are you coming to Tucson?

Mike in Tucson

05/11/2008 11:40 PM by Mike Jones (Tucson Mortgage Company, LLC)

Brad:  I'm bookmarking this post ... planning to start using Mixpo tomorrow... a little too tired tonight to take it all in.  Looking forward to learning Mixpo and getting started tomorrow.

BTW, you would have a great time with "Miracle Mike" in Tucson!

I hope you and "Mama" had a great Mother's Day ... can't believe you are blogging tonight!!  Please share Mother's Day greetings from your RAIN PEOPLE!

05/12/2008 12:01 AM by Jan Evett Panama City Beach, FL (Ryan Realty Properties, Inc. )

Hey William - I have not had any members who are subscribing to Mixpo make any comments or suggest that the price for the subscription and service was too high yet.  If it doesn't work for you, that's ok, we'll figure something out that does or will.

I look at this as an investment to your business just like any other tool or service you write off at the end of the year.  If creating a quality video with the level of tools that Mixpo offers got you one more buyer or Listing because of it, what would that really equate to?  You see where I'm going right? :-)

There are people who spend thousands on Homes and Land ads, and Real Estate Digest magazines and don't get a single transaction from their time, effort and dollars spent there.  I'm not sayinng you shouldn't advertise in those mags, afterall, it's your marketing and advertising dollars.  You have to spend them, but  only YOU can decide where.

This IS just another tool in your toolbox.  Don't wait till your better "prepared", jump into it now, you'll only get better just like you have with your Blog and your business.  You just have to start and believe in yourself.

If you need some help figuring out what will work best for you in regards to video, hosting, tools available etc., let me know, I'm here to help my friend, and not to take your money.  Call me this week, let's chat.  :-)

05/12/2008 12:12 AM by Brad Andersohn ~ Community Builder (ActiveRain)

Mike - what are you talking about, you are one of the finest Bloggers in the State!!  Aren't you the "Featured" agent in your area?  You should be the video KING at this point.  Imagine what you could do with all the loan information and testimonials you could video, You should be all over this stuff. :-)))

I will personally come to AZ when you tell me I need to be there.  If we can get a few Brokers or Agents to pitch in for a training/seminar, it will be sooner than later.  Let's talk next week and see what this would really look like on paper.  Hope your Mothers Day rocked my friend, thank for stopping by!

PS - When I do get there, I'm not leaving until you post up a video on your Blog!  LOL!~  :-)

Hi Brad,

Great info as always, I have yet to use videos, but I am starting to look into it and am excited about the prospects.

05/12/2008 12:26 AM by Kevin O'Shea, White Plains, NY Real Estate (Homes of Westchester, Inc.)

Jan - let me know when you get started, I'm here to help if you need.  "Mama" is sleeping, we wore her out today, but I'll send her your regards in the morning.  She'll probably read this before I can get her the message.  This post is one I worked on a while, no worries, I didn't blow off Mother's Day to do a Mixpo post! haha! :-)
Looking forward to meeting with "Miracle Mike" and some of the others in Arizona soon. I Might even get the chance to swing by and see my Dad in Sierra Vista while I'm there.  Have a great night, and Happy Mom's Day to you from your family here in CA.  :-)

05/12/2008 12:32 AM by Brad Andersohn ~ Community Builder (ActiveRain)

Jan - I got one of those same comments as you did.  You know, the one that you shared with me in Tennessee? It was from the same person, so I know they're not just targeting one specific company. I already reported it as Spam, but I was hoping you did try to make contact with them to explain how it works here. If not, and you need me to do that, I'd be happy to take care of it, just need their information because I deleted the comment. Let me know tomorrow...thanks.   :-)

So who owns Mixpo? And how do we know that nobody else has access to our information? Google has made me paranoid about putting anything online. Is Mixpo on a secure server?

05/12/2008 12:52 AM by Lisa Hill (Daytona Beach Real Estate) (Adams Cameron and Company)

Kevin - your intuitions and vision are right on target my friend. The prospects are definitely worth getting excited over.  Research this well Kevin, you'll see that you're right on track.  Better to lead the pack than to have that 2nd place view. know what I mean? LOL~

Viral Video can do things for you and your business you won't believe, it just has to be done right, and with the right tools.  Let me know if you have any questions about any video projects that you may be considering.

So who owns Mixpo? And how do we know that nobody else has access to our information? Google has made me paranoid about putting anything online. Is Mixpo on a secure server?

Hi Lisa
- great questions.  Mixpo owns Mixpo. Here's their Team and information.  They have a secured server that can only be accessed by your login and password, just like the bank. :-)  The only people who will have access is you. That is, until you decide to share your video with the world.  It's just like creating an AR Blog post, you save it in draft until your ready to post. It's more secure than this Blog post is, that's for sure...  lol~

I'd love to know more about why you're paranoid with Google and putting anything online?  Doesn't that defeat the whole purpose of SEO and Viral Marketing?  Can you explain a bit more? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd love for you to share... thanks Lisa.

Brad,

I guess I'd better go buy one of those little "flip-video" things; thanks for the kind comments, and I'm looking forward to your Tucson visit.  I'll get a group together, and will call you early this week.  How many brokers / agents would be optimal IYO?

Don - if you need some tums, let me know.  lol~

I know this seems like a lot to digest, but it's the "taste" and "satisfaction"  of the meal that counts right? :-)

05/12/2008 12:40 PM by Brad Andersohn ~ Community Builder (ActiveRain)

Bill - It was great talking with you on the phone last week as well.  You are the Social Networking "Master!"

Looking forward to your upcoming videos with the "flip" and mixpo.  Let me know if you need any assistance, I might be able to save you some time and help with navigation. It's easy to use, just call if you have any questions at all.  Thanks again Bill.

BTW - The SEO tool is the BOMB!  My son ran his name from the video we did with Joe Satriani and he came up in the #1 spot on google.  He was more excited than we get when we come up #1 on google.  LOL~

05/12/2008 12:46 PM by Brad Andersohn ~ Community Builder (ActiveRain)

Larry - thanks, I loved your post by the way.  I added a link in the post I did about ActiveRain Drops in Tennessee.  Nicely done and very much appreciated.  Hope you liked the video I scrambled together.  Looking forward to coming to Nashville next time I'm there.

Thanks again for everything.  Good times, and great memories.

Brad....I think I've learned more from your posts that I did in my Broker's class...and what I've learned from you is far more valuable. I'll be digging into this more in the coming days.

Let me know when you might be in North Carolina...maybe I can venture up!

05/12/2008 12:54 PM by The Thom And Ray Team

Mike - I hear those little Flip Videos are pretty popular and in some cases are hard to find.  Depends on the area I guess.  You can use any video camera, the flip is just convenient for travel, and the audio and video are awesome. Also under $150.00.

Call me this week and we can talk about Tucson.  We can have as many as you'd like, I think the key is to have the right content for the right group.  Either newbies, intermediate or advanced bloggers, but we need to know which it will be so that the training is focused and directed specifically to that group.

I've learned that If we mix it all up, it's hard to present materials and tools in a timely manner that make sense to all levels of experience.  IE: Navigation for NewbiesSEO and Blogging Tools for Intermediate - Viral Marketing and Advanced Skill sets for the experts etc.  Let's figure out which group we'd have join us, then we can customize the class accordingly.  You got my numbers, let's hook up this week.  Thanks Mike :-)

I went to the MixPo site looking for the price that William mentioned. I couldn't find what the subscription price is. Did I miss it?

05/12/2008 02:17 PM by Elaine Reese, REALTOR® in central Ohio (Real Living HER, Worthington Ohio)

Hey Active Jer, I only have the one I'm using right now, but wish I could send every member a flip video. For now, you should just use the video recorder you have on your cell, or some photos to start diving into this stuff.  I used my digital camera and video recorder on my phone to do my first few video productions online.  That's how I started learning this stuff.

If I could send you a flip video camera, I most certainly would my friend.

05/12/2008 02:20 PM by Brad Andersohn ~ Community Builder (ActiveRain)

Geordie - congrats!  It's great to see others jump in and be the pioneers with this Viral Video phenomonon.  Mixpo works great with the Flip video and most other video fomats as well.  If you need any assistance with any of the process, I'm not the master, but I have learned how to maximize the benefits and minimize the time and learning curve with Mixpo navigation.

Best to you always in all your endeavors.

Brad,

Brad,  It's definitely great info.  I video skills really leave a lot to be desired.  Got a Flip to play with.  It does well with room shots, not so great with outdoor videos.  Yeah, I know it's cheap, but...  I have to admit that I'm getting more into taking pics again, so I'm sure this will come along also, but 'til then...  Besides isn't Mixpo  $30/month.  I would need to be doing much more on video.

Hi Mike - I uploaded a 5 minute video to Mixpo and it only took about 10 minutes, and that included rendering after the final edits and links were added.  2-3 hours is Crazy, there must have been something wrong with the Vimeo server or something.

They are working on the FTP type service at Mixpo, no ETA as of yet, but I have discussed it with them a couple times and know that it's coming soon. When you're ready to "Digg" in, let me know, I'll be one of your shovels..   :-)

Hello Eric - There's not really too much to learn. Just like your Blog, you only need good content and a video camera. Practice makes you better every time you do it.  Look how well we can all walk, I don't even remember having to crawl around so it must be true. We just get better and better with time, but we first have to just start.  Here if you need me my friend.  :-)

Marc - thanks.  Just so you know, I have done videos with mixpo that had no video in them at all. Only Photos!  Take a look at some of the videos I created with mixpo.  There is a zoom in and zoom out effect that just makes them look like they are videos. Check out the one I did for RE Connect in SF last year.

You can also use the library of videos and photos they have online to create some really cool presentations and productions.  It's always available if you ever need it, not something you have to jump on today...maybe wait and see some other success stories from other members using it to determine if it would be right for you.

Lesley - You can use photos or video to accomplish this.  If you want to know more info about this, just call or email me anytime. Be glad to help. :-)

Jeremy - you can use a convertor to change the format of those videos. Just google the words "Free Movie or Video Convertor" and you'll come up with quite a few.  I use one called Prism Video Convertor, works great for my home production stuff and converting .avi, .mov, .mpeg, .mpg. and .mpeg4 video files.

We keep looking at it and thinking we should jump in but have't yet. I'll be in DC for the NAR Convention and I am guessing they will have a booth to check it out. Thanks for th post.

Terry - if you don't find what you need there or if they don't have a booth, we'll still be here when you get back. Be sage and have a great time at NAR in DC this year!  Do come back and post all about it. I hope to be at the one in Florida in November.  :-)

LOL.....I need to get a little more comfy with the whole video before I worry about editing. Those are some great advantages though!

Christy - you just get comfy and let me know when you're ready.  I'm not going anywhere except out to shoot more video! LOL~  haha!  :-)  You always make me smile and laugh, thanks Christy..

Brad I need to understand more about making those templates - beginnings and endings - hmmm could a tutorial be coaxed out of you :) - Please keep sharing your experiences and encouraging us to take full use of it!! I like Mixpo - I want to be crazy in love with it (You tube capabilities would help)!! - lol P.S. Thanks for the kudos on my profile page {blushing} :)

Hello Cyndee - for you, I'll walk you through it over the phone!!  I have 3 other tutorials "The AR Gods" have me working on right now, and I will put one up shortly about Mixpo and how to do that.  I can drop in a video into one of my templates now and have a new product or presentation ready to go with new links, tiles and video in under 15 minutes. I'd be happy to show you how.

The last video I did ended up on the 1st page of Google in a matter of hours.  AOL even picked up four of my videos on a scrub, and featured them on one of their sites.  Between AR's google love and Mixpo's google love, we might want to keep this our little secret.  Shhhh...  :-)  Call me..

Have my Flip sitting right here on the desk. I'm not entirely convinced on the overall impact of video yet, but do feel lucky to be here in the Rain which keeps me well ahead of the technology curve.

Really like the templates, analytics and ad rotation features of Mixpo. That may be enough to push me to start playing with this in my free time. How long does it generally take to edit and produce a two-minute video?

Brad, you are a wealth of knowledge and it's just fabulous how you share it so willingly. Thanks for all you do for us struggling Rainers.

Bob - no struggling allowed!  Call me if you ever really are,I'll help you out anytime. Thanks for the kind words in your comment. Very nice. :-)

Brad- great post about Mixpo. I'm not sure I want to subscribe to any service for editing at this time however the tools do look to be quite useful to those that really use it.

Scott - no worries, this may come in useful or handy if you need to make that decision in the future. :-)

Hi John - it really depends on how much you want to do to it. A two minute video takes 5-10 minutes to complete once you know what you want and you know your way around. It probably takes longer to do a 50 word Blog post.  If you add links, custom overlays, voice overs and music with some background audio and transition effects,

I'd say a full blown production like that could take 15-30 minutes once you got it down.  It took me about 7-10 video presentations before I really felt like I knew how to navigate in Mixpo. It really is very simple.

Brad - Just when I was getting used to casual Brad.  Shirt and tie Brad pops back up.  I suppose I can only adjust. Again.

Maureen - I switched it back to the "Casual Brad", it's funny how many emails and comments you can get when you change a photo on your AR profile.  Hey, whatever it takes to get some attention!! LOL~ :-)
