Why you shouldn’t feed the trolls
Have you noticed there are trolls in Active Rain? No, I don’t mean little creatures that live in an almost perpetual state of happiness, singing and hugging all day like trolls in the movie “Trolls.”
I’m talking about the Internet trolls who sow discord by starting arguments or upsetting people. They typically deliberately post inflammatory comments and argumentative messages in their attempt to provoke, disrupt and upset others. “Trolls” pretend to be part of the group, but their real intent is to create conflict for their own amusement!
It’s soooooo tempting to respond to trolls, but the best advice is to always ignore them otherwise you are rewarding their behavior and playing into their hands. Trolling makes a lot of cowardly people feel stronger. Anyone can do it in the privacy of their home or office because they don’t have to interact with their audience in person. They are hiding behind their computers and on-line names and when finish they move on without any consequences. They aren’t worth your time or emotion...they have a problem...let them deal with it!
