Fishhawk Lake Real Estate Ten Buyers Questions A Series Part Seven

Q:What activities are offered locally at or around Fishhawk Lake?

A:There is a plethora of activities offered for family, or singular...your choice. Many will cost you nothing but energy!

Waterplay is very common here at Fishhawk Lake. You can be on the water or in the water, in a variety of ways. Small sailboats, swimming, pontoons, we even have a "postage stamp" of a beach that has easy access for small people, as well as large. This video has a smattering of what spring/summer activites abound here. The water is warm enough in the summer months for bathing suits, even though these little people are covered to keep from burning, I s'pose.

You can fish for cutthroat trout during the statewide fishing season. You can catch and keep two per day. From May-November 1st Salmon and steelhead are catch&release only.

Hiking is bountiful!

You can walk around the lake which is an easy trek mostly, and about 3 miles. There are other hiking trails, running trails and areas to walk your dog(s) off-leash on Greasy Spoon Road,

about a 1/2 mile from the entrance to Fishhawk Lake. Here is a video I took of Greasy Spoon Road one day while walking my Golden Retrievers.

There are daytrips to take, for example: the Jewell Elk Reserve, (mostly in the winter and very early spring months)

Fishhawk Falls (there are two, one is on the way to Astoria, on Hwy 202 going west),

and places along the coastline, as well as wineries that are about an hour away, like Apolloni Vineyards, (one of my personal favorites), located in Forest Grove, Gales Creek, and beyond.

Cannon Beach  Oregon is another destination that is only an hour and eight minutes away--a swanky coastal town that offers many shops, restaurants and a beach to walk. It's also dog-friendly.

The SurfSand Resort On the Beach is a truly wonderful destination place at Cannon Beach!

(My favorite dog-friendly hotel, they will even have your pet's name written on a chalkboard to welcome you as you walk into the lobby).

Even though Fishhawk Lake is rather remote, this is part of its allure. We are also only 4 miles from live music at The Birk, that's become quite popular in the last few years because the musicians love this venue!

Great list of Q & A's.  If I were a buyer, I would just contact you.  Listening to your passion and savvy is a real pleasure.  I prefer to talk to people more than looking at Google or anywhere else for the answers.  A

Hi Gayle, you are the local Fishhawk Lake expert. I wouldn't even think of calling another REALTOR® to buy a home from. Learning about the area you'll be living is huge for many buyers.

Hi Gayle - I'm exhausted from just reading about all the choices - but sitting on the deck just taking in the gorgeous scenery would be great too.

So much to do in Fishhawk Lake, I would really enjoy just being in a boat and relaxing on the water!

You do paint a pretty picture of life at the lake - and lots to do. I'm with Dick, I'll sit on the deck with a glass of wine, please. Lol.
