Above is a picture of my mom (in pink) on her 90th birthday, with her older sister (now 100) and my mom's 5 "kids".
I'm a very lucky person to still have my mother around at the age of 94. Mom was always a tower of strength and someone we could go to for help in any crisis. We never had a lot of money in the family, but somehow we never felt deprived of anything. I was lucky to have two loving parents and four siblings.
My dad has been gone for about five years now, but mom is still pretty healthy and independent. She does have some issues with memory. We now realize that, in some ways the roles are reversed and we have to take care of her the way she took care of us. Most of that responsibility falls on my sister because she lives the closest to my mom.
I did have an opportunity to make my mom very happy recently and it is the best I've felt in a long time. Her dog had died in November and she had wanted another one. We had all been looking for a suitable replacement. I was finally able to find a Papillon a couple of weeks ago and bring it to my mom (see my post "Too old to have a dog"). Mom has been really happy since then.

Happy mothers day with love to my mom, and also to my sisters who are both mothers and grandmothers.
Thanks Duane for encouraging us to write about our mothers.
Rich, what a nice ThemThem to Mom. Wow, sis in 100, to cool. Thanks for sharing with the Group.
