15 Comments on I am so fed up with these con artists, now they are infiltrating Active Rain, how do we stop them?
Wow it never ends.
I get them almost daily, I dont know how to make them stop either, I just delete them.
I get them all the time and have noticed they are using names like John Smith or Sue Jones as the sender. My email is really good about putting it in junk from the start. I recognized it and delete them now without ever reading it.
Now that hit man one is scary. I just think of my grandma and great aunts on the internet and it makes me worry.
I got a similar type thing the other day. People have too much time on their hands.

They are obviously cruising AR now to try to get to us that way, is nothing sacrid?
What will they come up with next...it amazes me.
Unfortunately, stuff like this happens and I doubt there is any way around it. It is bothersome, but all we can do is delete it and move on.

Alison.. Can you report this to ActiveRain? They might be able to trace the I.P. and see where it comes from and report it to the proper athorities. Just a thought.
I just delete them. I hate the ones that are trying to get better rankings by emailing your website email address
No way to stop it except set your spam filters very aggressively. Even then public profiles are even more susceptible.
I get these all the time. I do know one person who got scammed, but really who would believe this. Make sure that you report it as spam to your internet provider.
This one did not come through my email it was directly posted on AR, in my email inbox I as you say, just ignore them and delete, this shocked me as it was like a post in my AR blog
I guess that I would add my voice to the chorus of the deleting of these con artist emails.
Wow! The music is a little overwhelming!
