Strengths and Weaknesses of a Real Estate Broker in the OC
Once you decide to get into real estate, like I did 27 years ago, you either make it a j.o.b. or a career. I find pure enjoyment when I sell a house! That adrenaline that runs into your body when you get that new client or close escrow. It is exciting! In this business it is not always peaches and cream! No? You say?!! No! Hate to break it to you.... There are days that you are pounding your head to the ground not understanding what went wrong?! You have to baby your deals and with that I would like to share you my weakness as a business woman in real estate. I do not have the patience to wait for responses from leads. All the time and money it took me to get the lead and I have no patience to wait and hear from them. I know I should have the patience and try another tactic to reach them, but I feel that I have done it all and I am so busy already, I figure they will call me. I do not think that is the attitude that I should have. Perhaps, I should get a team member to follow up, stop by or maybe even send a personal note that stands out. I know I need work with my follow up leads and just because they do not reach out right away, does not mean they are COLD leads. Otherwise, I think they would tell me to bug off! There is always an unsubscribe button too. As I write this, I think I will start a marketing campaign for these semi-chilly leads. Perhaps, the marketing campaign that includes a recipe and my contact information, so that I may not be so intrusive. Just saying, "hello" with a "THINGS TO DO" notepad and my contact info is a good idea that I think I will order this week. I just need to decide the style soon. (the one in bold. is my fave)
Now, the strengths that I have in the business of real estate would be having confidence and being self motivated. Since I am the Broker and I do not have anyone to answer to, I have to stay motivated and I am a self motivator! Without motivation you could not get marketing done, you could not be a leader in your industry, and you could not sell homes without confidence to get the job done or be self motivated to get up to get the job done! We are all self employed basically and if you have not motivation to get up in the morning to do your real estate job, you are broker! This is a 9-5, at minimum! If you treat it as so, you will be successful!
