Arts and Culture Plan for Carlsbad CA is Underway
The arts have been a big part of the Carlsbad community for years, and I’ve seen plenty of growth and changes in the arts and culture since moving here 12 years ago from Boston. Opportunities are everywhere – public art, theater, music programs, art fairs, educational programs and summer camps, and so much more.
The City of Carlsbad is developing a formal Art and Culture Plan to insure that continue growth of art and culture in our community. In conjunction with input from Carlsbad residents, the City will be identify the community’s priorities for the arts for the next 10 years, work on identifying objectives that can be measured, and develop an implementation plan, with the plan for presenting this to the City Council in the winter of 2018.
Here’s how residents can and should be involved by sharing their feedback and asking questions:
COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS
Thursday May 18 at the Carlsbad Library (1775 Dove Lane) from 6:30 – 8
Saturday May 20 at the Carlsbad Senior Center from Noon until 1:30
ART IN TODAY’S CITIES DISCUSSION
Friday May 19 at the Carlsbad City Library (Dove Lane) at 7 pm
ONLINE SURVEY
You can take the Carlsbad Arts and Culture Plan online survey in May and June.
