Keeping It Simple--Before & After : An Active Rain May Challenge!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Napa Consultants

We have both loved photography all of our lives.  We have stood in awe marveling at Anselm Adams work in museums and in Yosemite. We have enjoyed Weston's work and loved Yousef Karsh's portrait work and even had him autograph a book for us. We have sat at photo sessions with our clients for hours and helped them pick out the photo that communicated their essence.

One of the people whose photography we currently use for one of our clients studied with Irving Penn! His style is artistic and evokes an emotional response! We regularly look through hundreds of photos of luxury homes and chose the ones we like for our clients websites.  We look for the same quality that Architectural Digest, Veranda or any other luxury magazine would demand on their pages.  We know what a great photo looks like, and the knowledge involved in taking one.  We are not professionals in this field, and if we were selling homes, we would enlist the best to take photos.

Mostly, we take photos for our blog posts, and use them when appropriate.  For other posts we buy photos if necessary. On Monday, we were at the Music Academy of the West buying tickets for various upcoming events this summer.  The gardens are superb.  They have an evening picnic musical series set outdoors in the garden.  The photo taken above is my before shot.  I wanted to convey being there.

Here is the after version.  I cropped it, adjusted the sharpness, the highlights and the shadows.  This is part of the program that comes with my Mac. I rarely use the re-touch function, or any other complex program.  My intent is to have you be there,  This is what I think the best photos of homes do, you can see yourself there!  I like keeping it simple and as natural as possible.  It is what I have seen the great ones do!

This is our entry in Dick Greenberg's Contest: Before & After!   Thank you Dick for hosting this challenge.

CAN YOU STATE HOW YOU ARE DIFFERENT AND BETTER THAN YOUR COMPETITION IN UNDER 30 SECONDS?

ABOUT:  Luxury Real Estate is a high stakes game. Commissions are substantial! We help luxury real estate professionals get to the listing table more often and win listings more frequently.  If you want to be the market leader, the personal or company brand that your target market thinks of first and refers most often, you need an Elevator Statement to accelerate the process.  We can get you there!

Your Elevator Statement is a succinct and persuasive summary of your extraordinary promise of value, your unique selling proposition.  In a time-starved world the attention span of your target market is shrinking.  To instantly convey what sets you apart from the crowd you need to be able to answer EACH ONE of these 3 questions in less than 30 seconds.: 1) What Do You Do?; 2)  How Do You Do It?, and;  3) How Are You Different?.  Can you state how you are different and better than your competition in under 30 seconds?

Watch the video above to see and hear how we do it.

Sheila Anderson Thank you.  We are so excited about this place, we bought tickets to attend a master class, where you can observe how the masters teach the selected fellows, as well as the NY Symphony playing Beethoven's Symphone #9 Ode to Joy outdoors by the beach with fireworks to follow, as well as other performances.  A

Lovely looking venue for events, love the crispness of your after shot. Sometimes the best shots are those we do little to, like a fine meal keep it simple and have good ingredients, and you did that here, your eye found the shot and then you improved it.

Nick & Trudy Vandekar, 610-203-4543 I agree with you especially with food.  It was in vogue several years ago, when chefs made all kinds of sauces and added all kinds of ingredients.  This trend passed quickly through California, but we would encounter it and cringe in different parts of the country.

When we have worked with photographers, they barely do any touch up, and they have great lighting, and a sense of composition that is unparalleled.  A

If you ever come this way, it is worth just seeing the gardens along as well as the buildings.  We are looking forward to quite a few musical venues this summer.

Endre Barath, Jr. You need to put the two dots over her name.  The way you do that is by pressing down the "o" key and a window appears with all the choices of accents.  Select the one you want with your mouse and click away.  the ö she will show up in the window.  Dörte Engel .  A

PS.  They have such great events including a beach extravaganza with the NY Symphony, the Los Angeles Chorale and other opera singers at $10 a seat.  They are going to be playing Bethoven's 9th Ode to Joy and then fireworks on 7/31.

Renée Fleming is also here to teach master classes, and is doing a performance also.  A
